I had posted previously about some fabric I received from Rosali.  I especially loved the little mushroom fabric she sent me, and although I had asked for "quilting cottons" specifically, this fabric just screamed at me to make it into a little purse.  Voila:



I hope it is OK to post this here.  I didn't receive the purse in the swap, but I did receive the fabric, so I thought it would be OK.  Plus, I wanted Rosali to see it

I received some notecards (and matching envelopes!) from Lol Stein a few days ago.  I asked for them because I write to my sisters.  So I got girly and family themed cards.  Awesome.

I got a package from Rosali today and I can't believe she stuffed so many goodies in such a teeny tiny box!!



I especially love the blue fabric with the tiny mushrooms.  And the sushi print!  And I can't wait to try to make some plushies with that maroon felt!!!  (so many exclamation points!).

Last weekend, I went shopping at a discount clothing store. I was browsing through the petite section when I found a size 24, irregular, pair of Liz Claiborne jeans for $2.99. They must have been reduced at least four times - I couldn't even remove all of the stickers to see the original price! It was such a good price and such a nice, lightweight denim that I had to buy them and give them new life:

My mother-in-law made a request for a new case for her eyeglasses and this is what I came up with.

OK, here's my contribution.  I received a whole bunch of scraps in the mail and there was a lot of pink in there.  Change purses are my new favorite thing, so I whipped one up as a thank you for the gal who sent me the scraps.



I had to add some non-pink colors in there to add interest.  And, because, I just couldn't make it all pink.  Sorry!

I've had this coffee table for many years - it was a hand-me-down.  Nice, white marble.  But it cracked!!



I had to remove the marble and now the table has a sad, unfinished top.  It appears to be stained, but it's not smooth or varnished.  I could just sand it, stain it, and finish it - but that would be so boring!



So my question to you, fellow crafsters, is what the heck can I do with this coffee table that is not too expensive, baby-friendly, and would look fabulous!!??  (tall order, I know)

I thought about getting a piece of plywood and stapling some foam and fabric on top.  That would be baby-friendly, but not fabulous.  An idea my husband had was to get a nice piece of rounded glass to put on top and place pictures underneath.  I immediately took it one step further and had grand ideas about creating a collage right on top of the table, but I've never done a collage before.  I wouldn't even know how to approach it!  Also, where does one get a nice, piece of glass.  I sort of doubt it would fit into my inexpensive criteria .

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I decided that the embroidered face just wasn't working out, so I used felt instead.  I also gave him a diet: skinnier torso.  I think he looks better, but I'm still not satisfied that he's done.  I just don't know what I want to do to make him better.
