1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / General Frustration on: April 15, 2010 06:00:27 PM
I am making a messenger bag for a swap...this is the first one that I have ever made (first bag actually) and I was not smart enough to use a pattern...nope, just the vision in my head.

Only problem is the vision in my head is cute and perfect...what I am holding in my hand, while not bad, is not that vision...

So, I am just basically blowing off steam here.   I still (hope) think my partner will like it, its just not exactly 'right'.

Thanks for listening to my rant.
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / My first projects [dog sweater, amigurumi, and a hat] on: March 31, 2010 07:00:19 PM
I have posted on here a few times...but basically, I have been teaching myself to crochet via the internet.  I LOVE it!!!

Here a few of the things that I have made for swaps recently.

This is for a dog swap (also my first time not using a pattern)

This is my first 'real' amigurumi...I am really happy with the way it turned out and was almost sad too send it away.

Finally my first crocheted hat!

I am finding crocheting to be totally addicting!  I just made a bunny, am working on a monkey and then another bunny for the kiddos for Easter.

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Just had to share!! on: February 26, 2010 07:23:59 PM
After being so inspired by all of the wonderful things that you all make... I decided to learn how to crochet.  I checked out a couple of books (one for adults and one for kids - just in case  Cheesy ) and found some awesome tutorials online to follow.

So last night, I managed to make a dish cloth!  Woo hoo!  And today (while it took several hours to get it down), I managed to make a ball!!!!   I really want to learn to make amigurumi things, so the ball was a huge deal.

I don't have pics, but wanted to share anyways!
4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Anyone having luck with pet crafts? on: May 25, 2006 01:20:41 PM
Hi-

I am thinking of starting a small business and would love to have it involve both pets and crafts- but I'm not sure how much of a market there would be for it.

I know that I would and have bought lots of stuff for my furry kids- but then again, I'm a little weird.

Does anyone have any ideas to break into it other than say Ebay?

Thanks alot!

Karen
