1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Art Party Ideas??? on: June 19, 2006 08:25:30 PM
Hello.  We are throwing a party during an art festival (in which the festival will be held in our own back yard and the streets/blocks surrounding.)  I'd love to have suggestions for activities/food.

We are going to have several canvases for people to paint on (to be left and decorate our place) and are thinking of having a "paint" your own cupcake or cookie.

I was thinking of having several pictures of famous paintings/artwork and test people knowledge of artists.

More suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,
Sandy
2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Art Party Food- help! on: June 17, 2006 05:50:00 PM
Hello.  My husband and I will be throwing a party during an upcoming art festival and am looking for ideas for food to serve. It would be cute to have artsy names to the food as well (such as Picasso's pizza.)  The party will be during the afternoon, so lighter foods are preferred.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Spring Swap?? on: April 10, 2006 07:57:32 PM
Last year I organized a Spring swap, which was a lot of fun. Any interest in doing an '06 version?  (At this time, I'm not able to organize.)

4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Burger King costume help on: October 14, 2005 04:08:09 PM
My husband wants to be the creepy wooden-plastic face Burger King.  We could make/come up with the king outfit, but are looking for help in making or finding the mask.  Any thoughts?
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / 99 beaded rings on: September 17, 2005 08:05:10 AM
Ok, not ninety-nine, but nine beaded rings (now the song "99 Red balloons" is stuck in my head)

The beads on the pink bracelet are moveable, which makes it fun.  I have close up pictures of all of the rings.  Let me know if you'd like to see any one in particular.

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Herbal beaded bracelet on: September 17, 2005 07:54:53 AM
My friends over at www.prairielandherbs.com are having their seventh birthday bash this weekend.  They have started carrying herbal bead & herbal incense kits.  Being the beader that I am, I took up the "challenge" of making a sample from the bead kit.

The kit include directions/recipes for making your own beads from organic material, but also includes herbs powdered and ready to use.  The reddish beads are a rosemary/lavender mix.  (I can't remember what the tan ones are made out of.)  They smell pretty good, but aren't over powering.  Next time I make them, I might use one of those tools that you use to make polymer clay beads.  I thought about sealing the beads, but thought it would take away from it being earthy.
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / "Junk Food" Swap on: September 12, 2005 05:55:30 AM
I find the crafted "junk food" found on craftster so cute.  Stuffed donuts, ice cream cone earrings, and maybe a ipod cozy/coin purse made in the shape of a french fry container are ideas that come to mind.  Any takers?
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Fall Swap Round 2 on: September 12, 2005 05:52:48 AM
Would anyone be interested in a fall swap?  Here's a link to last year's fall swap http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=16092.0

Anything with fall colors, leaves, pumpkins, and the like would be included.

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Poof yarn capelet- need help with circulars! on: September 04, 2005 03:52:49 PM
Hello.  I'm trying to make this http://www.fuzzygalore.biz/patterns/capeletpf.shtml.  But am having problems with circulars.  The pattern calls for me to cast on 23 stitches on size 11, 24 length.  I think I'd be better off trying it with 16 length, as 23 (nor 30 stitches) for that matter, comes close to coming around the needle.  Suggestions??
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Pointy bracelets-pic heavy on: September 04, 2005 08:19:46 AM
Here's a few bracelets that I made last year.  These are more Summer driven.  I think its time for me to start making Fall jewelry. Smiley

People usually either love or hate these bracelets.  I have a thing for making bracelets that has stuff sticking out of it.
