Melinda-  The needle and thread techniques are a lot easier than they look!  I urge you to give it a shot.  If you can knit, I'm sure you can learn how to do this (she says, as she naws on her fingernails, getting ready to knit for the first time in the craftalong).

Heres a pic of the fab scarf IQ sent me.

I'll take pics of my stockings later, as they are still hanging up (sadly, my cat already took down my Christmas tree on Christmas day)

Yay!  I received my bounty o'beads from Emilyflew.  I can't decided which I like better, the pig charm or the baby doll....lol  I noticed that some of the beads I sent you have been reincarnated into different colors for me! Wink

Thank-you so much!  This was such a fun swap!

I finally have regular access to a digi cam now (yay!)

Here is a pic of my wonderful tote I received in November from my SC

I use it as my beading bag and take it with me almost everywhere.  Thank-you so much, again, SC!!

25  Re: Craftalong Un-swap part 2: embroidery in The Swap Gallery by 706Designs on: December 28, 2004 03:54:47 PM
I'm almost embarrassed to post, but here I go anyways.....

Here is a pic of my completed, first ever, embroidery project.  Silly me, I always like to make things harder than what they really are, so I decided to "draw" out my own pattern (hahaha, drawing has never been my strong point.  Please excuse the silly pencil marks around the flower, it hasn't been washed yet).  What started out as a sun, ended up as a top heavy flower.  Regardless, it was a lot of fun to do

Maybe next time, I'll follow a pattern and read directions on how to embroider.  I really didn't like embroidering on the tea towel....I found it extremely flimsy.  Maybe it was the brand I embroidered on, but I think I would like something with more "substance" to it.

Here are the beautiful scarves Jessicakes sent me

The picture doesn't do it justice. She put several different fall colored leaves all over the scarf. Yesterday, I wore this one all day long.

The second scarf is super cute too!  The both go well with my new olive colored cord jacket!

Thank-you so much, Jessicakes!!! I love them both!

28  My pink beaded flower pin in Beads: Completed Projects by 706Designs on: October 31, 2004 03:56:46 PM
I found these really gaudy earring posts, but figured they would work great for a pin.

I used hot pink, size 11 seed beads and a swavorski crystal for the center.  It was a lot of fun to make.  I can't wait to wear it, tomorrow!

Here's what I sent Munsters2004:

I sent him 2 tie tacks/pins-bat & ghost, bat candleholder, spooky door sign (that has pics for other holidays), a pumpkin mini eraser , Monsters Mad Lib, and a Mr. Bones kit.  I put everything in a "spooky" trick-or-treat bag.

Happy Haunting!

30  Re: Let me Make Your Craft in The Swap Gallery by 706Designs on: October 23, 2004 07:34:32 PM
FYI:  Everyone should be having a craft come their way next week.  Yeah!!

Here is the beaded dres-thingy I sent Spydermum:

Its kind of hard to tell, but the top is made of white seed beads, and the bottom with 2 shades of blue and white.  I made a V in the back of the dress with one shade of blue.  I think if I were to make one again, I would use foam glue.

I packaged it with a few other beads incase they fell off during travel.  Hopefully too many didn't come off.  I didn't take pics of the other stuff sent, but I also made a pumpkin felt pin, and another pin using the smaller of the two faces she sent, along with the mirrored tiles.....Funny, with me, its always about accessories.  I need to "think outside the bead box."  LOL
