1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / embroidered necklace help on: December 19, 2013 08:50:03 AM
I have done a search on this website as well as a general Internet search and I can not find any instructions on how to make these necklaces.  I want to make some for gifts but I am clueless on how to take my embroidery and turn it into a necklace. I don't want to use a setting and that is really the only tutorials I can find. If anyone has made these types of necklaces or knows somewhere where I could find instruction I will be eternally grateful!! I've included pictures on the type of necklace I'm talking about! Smiley thank you everyone for all the help I have gotten from you guys in the past!!

3  UNITED STATES / Alabama / 2nd & Charles on: August 24, 2011 09:57:55 AM
I just wanted to let everyone on here know about 2nd & Charles used bookstore!  It is the best thing ever!!!  It is in Hoover near the Galleria.  It has been opened a while so I am sure most have already heard about it if you haven't already been there, but it is an awesome place!!  Outside they have a free book bin which it perfect if you want to do book related crafts (I made a Monster Book of Monsters for the HP premiere out of a book that I grabbed from the free bin).  They also have great prices on books, music, movies and records.

I just thought that I would throw this out there because I want them to do enough business to stay open forever!!  lol!!!  Grin
4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Cousin It from the Addams Family on: August 11, 2011 09:04:49 AM
This year for Halloween I really want to be Cousin It.  I did it once as a child and it was awesome and I really want to do it again, however, I cannot find a wig or hair or anything that looks good and covers me from head to toe.  I am not that tall I am only 5'3" so I didnt think that it would be hard, but I had to abandon this idea last year because I never found anything that worked.

I have looked online and  seen people do it with yarn but you can tell that it is yarn and i would love if I could figure something out that looked more like hair.

I thought about buying a few of the child repunzel wigs and putting some on my head and attaching some to a skirt to make it long enough but again I am scared that it will end up lookin awful.

Since the people on Craftster are sooo talented and smart I thought that I would reach out for some help.  If anyone has any suggestions I will love them forever and ever!!!

Thanks for reading my super long post!! And for any and all help!!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy <3<3<3
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Lucia's baby blanket! on: October 17, 2010 03:19:24 PM
My sister is due to have her birthday any day now (she is already almost a week past her due date!) and so I have been in a rush trying to get her baby blanket done.  This is the third baby blanket that I have started for her.  The first blanket I started I had to abandon because I accidentally bought yarn from two different dye lot numbers.  Then the second I pulled apart because I read the pattern wrong and it ended up HUGE and I was running out of time and yarn.  So this is the third blanket that I started on...but I finished this one.  I love the way it turned out.  I wish that I had done one that was more solid since it will be winter soon, but I am not too worried about it since we live in the south and the days here are still reaching the upper 80s or even 90s in October!! But I got the pattern from the book 'Circular Baby Afghans' by Rebecca Leigh and the color is a light pink.  Please I would love to hear what you guys think!! And I know that my sister would love it if you could all send some labor vibes her way hahahaha!!! She hasn't seen the blanket yet so hopefully she will like it *fingers crossed*

anyway sorry for being so wordy...I hope you like the blanket  Grin Tongue

6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Some presents for people I love!!! Image heavy!! on: October 17, 2010 02:04:40 PM
These are some animals that I have crocheted for gifts in the past and I am finnaly getting around to sharing them with you guys!! I would love to hear what you guys think  Grin Grin

This is a gift that I made my best friend who lives in Indiana.  I went to visit her and this is what I made her as an 'I miss you tons' gift!!  I modified a unicorn pattern to make it.

This is a birthday gift that I made for my niece.  She fell in love with my dog, phoebe, who is a toy poodle.  Her mom won't let her have a dog until she is 13 so I made her her very own Phoebe dog Smiley

For my nephew's birthday I wanted to make him something that was fit for a super cool skateboardin, surfing, dirt bike riding little boy so I thought that I would make him a dragon.  I think that it turned out awesome...even if it did almost kill my hands making it lol!!!

Thanks soo much for taking a look and I would love to hear what you guys think.  I got the dragon pattern somewhere on Craftster but I can't remember where, but thanks so everyone on Crafter for patterns, feedback and inspiration! Love you guys soo much!!!
7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / SOS!!! Quick Project Idea Needed before a Cruise!!! on: August 18, 2010 01:59:26 PM
Hey everybody!! Cheesy

I am going on a cruise next week (aug 26th) with a big group of friends.  I am the newest member of this group so I really want to impress the girls that I will be rooming with on the ship by making a little something for each of them.  I am very shy and get nervous when trying to make friends so I thought that this might be a good way to start the trip off right and bring us all together.
There are going to be four of us girls in one room and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about something cutsie that I could make for each of us to have during the cruise (maybe like drink huggies or something).  I thought about doing personalized 'Pimp Cups' or something but I am not sure.  If any one out there has any ideas I will be your best friend forever and ever!!! Not to mention I will bow down to you and owe you huge Smiley

Thank you soo much!!
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Need Help with Friends 21st Birthday!! on: April 01, 2010 11:12:24 AM
Hey Craftsters!!! I need help!! My best friend, who lives in a different state than myself, is turning 21 on the 5th and since I cannot be there to *ahem* indulge with her  Roll Eyes I am going to send her a party-care package. I have a few things to put in there (like a goofy hat that is going to look awesome after a few drinks, party poppers that explode when you pull the string on them which will also be super fun after some drinks, and some really pretty shot glasses) I was planning to send her a different mini for each of the shot glasses, but I found out the other day that it is kind of illegal to mail alcohol through the mail.  So now I am stuck with trying to think of something awesome to make up for the fact that her package will be without booze and that I won't be there to party with her.  So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what I could do/add to the package to make it super duper awesome  Grin  I thought about maybe adding some money and attaching a note that says that it must be used to pay her first bar tab.  Any suggestions would be awesome!!! Sorry that I am soo wordy...I hope I made sense  Cheesy

Thanks in advance you guys!!!
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Fan and Petal Neck Lace! on: July 12, 2009 06:51:53 PM
Hey! I just finished this tonight. It took me forever (mainly because I kept putting it down to pick up my book...im a little ADD Grin) I made it for a friend of mine who graduated grad school in May...its going to be a bit late. But I think that she will like it. It was made from the pattern in the interweave crochet magazine the spring 2009 issue.

The camera made the color look different in some of the pictures but the second and third pictures are  pretty accurate.

This is my first project that wasn't a blanket, scarf, or hat. I hope you like it!

C&C welcome!  Smiley
