Thank you soo much!! Those look great!  Yeah I saw that picture of the little girl! She does look great!  I know that walmart normally sells curly long repunzel wigs...I wonder if I wet them or brush them if I can figure out a way to straighten them?Huh hmmm!

Thanks soo much for the response and encouragement! I am determined to find a way to make this costume work!! Lol!!  Grin
34  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Cousin It from the Addams Family on: August 11, 2011 09:04:49 AM
This year for Halloween I really want to be Cousin It.  I did it once as a child and it was awesome and I really want to do it again, however, I cannot find a wig or hair or anything that looks good and covers me from head to toe.  I am not that tall I am only 5'3" so I didnt think that it would be hard, but I had to abandon this idea last year because I never found anything that worked.

I have looked online and  seen people do it with yarn but you can tell that it is yarn and i would love if I could figure something out that looked more like hair.

I thought about buying a few of the child repunzel wigs and putting some on my head and attaching some to a skirt to make it long enough but again I am scared that it will end up lookin awful.

Since the people on Craftster are sooo talented and smart I thought that I would reach out for some help.  If anyone has any suggestions I will love them forever and ever!!!

Thanks for reading my super long post!! And for any and all help!!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy <3<3<3

36  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: AUGUST Granny-A-Day 08/01-08/31/2011 on: August 01, 2011 01:46:12 PM
I am going to try my hardest to do this! It looks like a lot of fun to craft with people from all over the world! Plus this is my birthday month so this can be my birthday afghan Smiley  Maybe if I am doing this with others it will motivate me to stick with it!!!  I am soo excited!!!

Oh and BabyCakes8510 I would suggest a dark blue or purple maybe.  Because from the pictures it looks like purple and blue are in most of the squares. But any color would look nice since it is going to be a hodge podge of color Smiley

Oh my goodness!! Thank you soooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooo much everybody!!! It means soo much to me that you guys like them soo much!!!

I absolutely love the horse!  It has to be my favorite!

Question : the x's on the legs - are they all that is holding the legs on or are they there for decoration?  I find whenever I put legs on something, it doesn't' sew on right, or just looks wonky.  I like the idea of the x, or something, to bring attention to that trouble area in a good way.

The X's are decoration and also used to help keep the legs on the body.  I sewed on the legs and then used the white yarn to reinforce the legs and make them flat against the body, but the legs still have some slight mobility so it can sit down  Grin

And I am soo sorry that it has taken me so long to answer your questions!!!

Thanks everybody for the nice comments and the well wishes!!! My niece was born Tuesday October 19th!! She is beautiful!! 8 pounds 2 oz 22 inches long!  Grin  I am such a proud aunt!

Oh it's lovely! I haven't tried anything like this, is it time consuming or interesting enough that you keep going? For labor, I was late and told I wasn't ready and it would be a week or so, so we planned some outings to distract myself, and of course my water broke!

I actually started 3 but kept messing up lol!! This one was fun because it was in the round.  It was hard only because I think that I might be getting arthritis because my hands hurt soooooo bad while making it.  But it other than that it was fun and my sister loved it!!
