Yay I recieved the other day and I have been trying to post pictures but my camera and computer has been acting difficult.  But I got spoiled rotten by Susanab!!! She is the best swap partner ever!! She sent me a Hedwig Ninni with an awesome Christmas scarf!! An awesome passport cover and Grinch mug rug!! She is also sent awesome fabric and some Jolly Rancher suckers!!

She was also nice enough to send my mom her very own mg rug and jelley beans!

My sister is due to have her birthday any day now (she is already almost a week past her due date!) and so I have been in a rush trying to get her baby blanket done.  This is the third baby blanket that I have started for her.  The first blanket I started I had to abandon because I accidentally bought yarn from two different dye lot numbers.  Then the second I pulled apart because I read the pattern wrong and it ended up HUGE and I was running out of time and yarn.  So this is the third blanket that I started on...but I finished this one.  I love the way it turned out.  I wish that I had done one that was more solid since it will be winter soon, but I am not too worried about it since we live in the south and the days here are still reaching the upper 80s or even 90s in October!! But I got the pattern from the book 'Circular Baby Afghans' by Rebecca Leigh and the color is a light pink.  Please I would love to hear what you guys think!! And I know that my sister would love it if you could all send some labor vibes her way hahahaha!!! She hasn't seen the blanket yet so hopefully she will like it *fingers crossed*

This is a gift that I made my best friend who lives in Indiana.  I went to visit her and this is what I made her as an 'I miss you tons' gift!!  I modified a unicorn pattern to make it.



This is a birthday gift that I made for my niece.  She fell in love with my dog, phoebe, who is a toy poodle.  Her mom won't let her have a dog until she is 13 so I made her her very own Phoebe dog



For my nephew's birthday I wanted to make him something that was fit for a super cool skateboardin, surfing, dirt bike riding little boy so I thought that I would make him a dragon.  I think that it turned out awesome...even if it did almost kill my hands making it lol!!!

Hey! I just finished this tonight. It took me forever (mainly because I kept putting it down to pick up my book...im a little ADD ) I made it for a friend of mine who graduated grad school in May...its going to be a bit late. But I think that she will like it. It was made from the pattern in the interweave crochet magazine the spring 2009 issue.







The camera made the color look different in some of the pictures but the second and third pictures are  pretty accurate.

This is my first project that wasn't a blanket, scarf, or hat. I hope you like it!

I made this baby blanket for a friend of mine.  He really liked it.  I was happy with the way it turned out. This was my first baby blanket! yay for me hahaha!

So this summer I took a mixed media class and for my final project I wanted to ask the question, "Is it art?"

I believe that art is defined differently by every person.  What is art to one may not be art to another.  So I took images from a high fashion magazine and printed them onto fabric.  I then made a dress and got a friend of mine to wear it to the local bar and I asked people there, "Is the dress art?" and recorded their answers.  I only allowed people to answer yes or no because I knew that with me, the artist, sanding there they wouldnt want to hurt my feelings by just plan saying no...they would want to explain (people can be so nice but i needed real answers  )

Anyway in my class we talked about how if the dress was displayed in the on campus art gallery that most people would just accept it as art and not question it.  That is why I took it out to the bar so that I could get answers from people who werent art students and who wouldnt really be influenced by where the dress was. 

I got a lot of yes's which kinda surprised me (I thought all the dunk people wouldbe more of a 'no' crowd lol) but it was soo much fun having to ask all the people.
