1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Adele Necklace on: May 20, 2010 05:39:14 AM
This necklace is the first and only one I've made using copper findings, I love the way it works with the green.

The necklace itself is 16" in length, and is made using antique copper findings. I've assembled two vintage flowers to make a 3D shape, and have placed a beige coloured Swarovski glass pearl in the centre. This is accompanied by a row of lovely green faceted glass beads.

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Antique Brass / Vintage Style Jewellery on: March 14, 2010 08:09:20 AM
I've been making jewellery for about 5 years now. I've made lots of different styles of jewellery in the past, but at the moment I'm turning my attention to vintage style jewellery. Here are a few examples of what I've been up to,there are lots of pics, sorry! These are a selection of necklaces, rings, earrings, pins and hair grips that I've made. Some of them I've done in lots of different colours, but there are so many photos here I've just shown one colour.

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Vintagey jewellery with some wedding bits thrown in on: October 06, 2009 06:32:40 AM
As usual I've gone months without sharing anything that I've been making. I don't know where the time seems to go! Anyway, this is a bit of a catch up on what I've been doing of late. Enjoy!

Orla Necklace:

This is about 16" in length (are are most of chunky necklaces), and is made using gorgeous chunky faceted beads. The flower parts are vintage and I've stuck a little Swarovski crystal in the centre for a little bit of sparkle. All of the findings are antique brass.

Grace Necklace:

I LOVE this necklace, it's one of my favourites I've made lately. Again this is 16" with antique brass findings. I love the roses, I have them in loads of colours and thin they're really pretty.

Nakita Necklace:

Continuing with the necklace theme, I like the opaque beads on this one, it's a bit less chunky than the first two. The colours are nicer in real life than in the photo.

Hanging Around Necklace:

I had a single tree stamping and didn't know what to do with it, so I ended up pairingit up with an owl charm I had. It swings freely which I quite like.

Abigail Necklace:

This one is 18" if I remember rightly, it's made using a vintage Swarovaski crystal octagon. It makes a lovely rainbow when the light hits it.

Mia Earrings:

I made these in two colours but the pastel ones are my favourites. They're quite basic but I think they work well. The beads are tensha ones which have flowers on them.

Finally a couple of wedding type things that I've been making. The first is a simple bridesmaid necklace with Swarovski pearls, and a little Swarovski crystal spacer bead (I've also made matching earrings), and then there is necklace which is again made with Swarovski crystals and pearls which I've linked up using eyepins. I've also made this in white (the one pictured is cream), oh, and of course I've made matching earrings & a bracelet. It looks much nicer in realy life, it really sparkles.

This is one of my favourite lockets (mainly because I love bows), so I had to share it.

This necklace is made using a vintage locket with a 32mm diameter. In the centre of the locket is an antique brass filigree, and in the middle of that is a vintage brass bow. The chain is 16" with mother and son links, though you can't really see this in the picture, and is also antique brass. Separating the locket and the chain I've put a 10mm faceted champagne coloured glass bead.

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Ciara Ring & Friends... on: April 19, 2009 09:27:09 AM
I've finally got around to taking some photos of my most recent jewellery. Most of these bits are vintage looking, or are made using vintage parts Smiley

Ciara Ring - This is one of my favourites, it has three tiers of stacked vintage metal flowers with a swarovski AB crystal in the middle so it sparkles in the light:

Zadie Rings in turquoise & purple, these are antique copper adjustable bases with flower cabs. I think these look very similar to antique brass, but are a bit warmer:

Grace Ring - This one is made using an oval antique brass filigree and a vintage cream rose:

Bella Necklace - This is another of my favourites, all of the findings are antique brass and the stone is a gorgeous vintage smokey one. I love smokey beads and stones which is probably why this is one of my favourites:

Luna Earrings - These kind of match the Bella necklace but not quite. The little filigrees are lovely, and I've hung swarovski topaz crystals in the middle of them:

Adele Earrings - These earrings are simple but I like them. They have a 5cm drop and feature yet more smokey beads:

Clara Necklace - I love these roses, they are so pretty. This is the turquoise version but I have them in a rainbow of colours:

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Vintage Flower Necklace on: April 13, 2009 11:41:56 AM
I haven't posted here for sooo long. I've completely changed the style of my jewellery and still have loads to photograph, but I thought I'd share a necklace I made yesterday. I'm working on a big range of necklaces so I'm naming them in alphabetical order, I'm calling this one Amy.

The necklace is 16" in length and is made using vintage anodised flowers which have been stacked in three layers. Behind those there are two antique brass finish branches, and the beads are 10mm onyx rounds. The beads are quite substantial and give the necklace a nice weight. All of the findings are antique brass.

I'm off to have a look at everything people have been making since I last visited, so I'll leave you with the picture Smiley.

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Some recent things using vintage/vintage look parts on: November 09, 2008 11:17:46 AM
I can't believe how long it has been snce I've posted on here, I used to be about all the time. There are some great things here so I should remeber to check back more often... Anyway, these are a few things I've made lately, I won't list everything or I'd be here all day!

Big focal ring:

I made this ring using a vintage carved rose & a bigger antique brass filigree. These make a great focal point Smiley.

Carved Rose necklaces:

To continue the rose theme, I've made these necklaces in so many different colours I can't list them all. I really love them, they're quite delicate.

Lily cab earrings:

I really like these, originally I made them for my mum's birthday. I've also made other similar ones which I haven't got pictures of. These are made using swarovski pearl beads, lovely little antique brass filigrees, and lily cabs.

Vintage smoked rhinestone swallow necklace:

I LOVE this necklace. I didn't make it for myself to start with, but I loved it so much I kept it. It's made using a vintage smokey glass rhinestone and antique brass findings. This is supposed to be worn quite high up the neck, so in total it's only 15 inches.

Double strand necklaces:

These are also designed to be worn quite high up the neck. The lower layer is made using glass pearls. That's it for now I think Smiley.
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Does anyone know where to find octagon cab settings? on: October 29, 2008 03:19:49 AM
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me...

A while back I bought some really pretty swarovski crystal cabs. I've managed to find 13x18mm octagon settings for some of them, but I also bought some which are 11x16mm octagons and cannot for the life of me find anywhere that sells settings in this size. They are vintage so I guess they might not be a very common size now, but I really want to find settings for them else they are useless to me. Ideally I'd like some in antique brass and/or silver, but I'm so desperate I'd accept prettymuch anything as a suggestion. If anyone knows where I could find anything like this I'd be really grateful as I've been searching for ages.

Oh, and I'm in England, so if the place is outside the UK it needs to be able to ship abroad... thank you in advance Smiley
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Loaded Nightmare Before Christmas Bracelet on: September 03, 2008 02:57:09 AM
I haven't really posted a bracelet in ages, and this is my favourite Nightmare Before Christmas bracelet I've ever made so I thought I would. I *think* this is also the most charms I've ever put on one bracelet. Anyway, the description...

It's completely packed with 52 charms and beads. These include czech glass beads in a gorgeous teal/green colour, black glass round and cube beads, really cute black metal roses (unfortunately they didn't photograph very well) and tibean silver hearts. Other beads include black and white plastic candy striped ones, black teardrops and discs, and large faceted rounds with an irridescent finish which complements the green beads. Interspersed along the bracelet are five Nightmare Before Christmas character charms. All of the findings are silver plated and the bracelet is made to fit an avergae sized wrist Smiley.

As per usual it looks better in the flesh...

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / I spent most of yesterday making stuff... on: July 14, 2008 07:23:17 AM
These are some photos of some of the stuff I made yesterday. My photos aren't the best but you get the idea... If only I could take decent photos *sigh*. everything looks much better in real life, I promise Wink.

This is my sisters favourite necklace I made yesterday, it's really nice on but these roses never photograph well for me:

The next one is a locket I made using vintage components (same photo problem). I'm thinking of making these for a couple of my friends who have their birthdays coming up in August:

As I'm onto lockets now I may as well put the rest of the lockets next. The first one is made using a vintage locket & rose cab, actually, most of the lockets are made using vintage parts... I like the way the bottom two are very simple.

Next are examples of me going crazy with flowers, I can never seem to make something in one colour, so I made these in four. The first one is a bit zoomed out so you can see the whole area, the others have the dangly bits too but I the pictures are close ups. The white and gold one looks so pretty in real life, I think it's very pure.

This is a similar necklace but with a swooping swallow this time:

And finally the simplist one of them all, I call this the ocean necklace. It's like the teal one I made the other day, the beads are an amazing colour, especially when the light hits them.
