22  simple cross stitched purses in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Glamis on: April 26, 2013 10:58:13 AM

Hi guys!
I made a bunch of the purses.
They are just a simple rectangle, closed with a zipper and fully lined.
I also added a cord.
I made the cross stitch motif by drawing a grid on the back of the faux leather and then applied the pattern.
The cross stitch is made with thin, acrylic wool.
Here are the results

and here is a compilation of the linings

I am totally unsatisfied with the "ending" of the zipper. Have to work on that.
How do you like them?

23  Re: One Tiny Monster Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Glamis on: April 23, 2013 02:30:44 AM

Prepare for some monsterlicious AWESOMENESS!

What might be hiding in that crate I got from suereal?

a scary, fury monster! Look at his teeth! And the eyes! And the claws! Isn't he gorgeous?!

the right (and a better look at the ears) The nose is hilarious

the left (that little molar..)

the back (he might be some kind of monster authority wearing a star...)

the bottom. He has a butthole. Or maybe those are his monster parts? Not quite sure...

and the best feature: he can "eat" things (my third word was hoggish, isn't that clever?!)

plus: a ton of cool skull related extras: beads, stickers, pendants, bandana, a handmade eyeball necklace (glow-in-the-dark!) and that three eyed bunny pendant is handmade too I guess (and glow-in-the-dark!), eye stickers and candy bars (aka stuffing material  Wink)

Thank you so much sureal! I LOVE my monster and the necklace and all the extras. Since I have a habit for naming things: He goes by Bernie now.  Grin

I received from noushi yesterday!

A simple but lovely zombie matchbox. Love his rotten teeth  Cheesy
In there were supercute stickers (the yellow butterfly is on my phone now), a bead pendant, some skulls, a sparkling button, a length of nicest colored green rigrack and best of all a small spoon and fork. I might turn them into earrings.

Thank you verymuch noushi for a wonderfull box

plaidpineapple that plaid purse is very cute. I think sadly the flower fabric on the other one is "swallowing" a lot of the nice details.
I might have overread it but how did you stiffen them up?

Thank you all for all the nice comments on the pug purse.

Here are the Dachshund and Bulldog purse fronts, eyes still missing. Aside the Dachshund are his ears. Have to press them. And the black, velourish fabric I choose is great.....as a duster, because it magnetically attracts every piece of lint in 10 meters around me..Sigh
I am also working on little zippered purse versions of them all.

So this is the pug face bag front. I appliqued black parts for the eyes patches and the lower face and sewed in some wrinkles. The nose is still missing and I m waiting for the safety eyes I ordered to put in. Then I can baste a plastic mat cutout to the back for support.
Parallel I am working on a Bulldog and a Dachshund. Have to take pictures of them too.
And I need to order zippers. They don't have the ones I want in my shitty hometown fabric store.  Cry

So I made a pattern for the front (and back) panel of the purse I want to make.
For the side panel I am going to cut am simple rectangle. I measured the circumference of the pug face with a wool thread an take that as a reference for the length.
It will be made from  black and light "apricot" colored faux velour leather. I have not decided on the fabric for the lining yet.
The stupid thing is that I need a little scrap of black patent leather for the nose and I do not have any. Since I do only need a little piece I hope to find some  patent leather item at the dollar store that I can repurpose. I have a really big stack of all kinds of fabrics scraps for doll making or so and it seems everytime I need something and only a little bit of that I turns out I don't hoard it. Sigh

30  My first Fimo cookies in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Glamis on: November 29, 2012 11:11:49 AM

I made those magnets for my parents using various you tube tutorial videos. I was quite surprise how easy to make they were.
Since we are a healthy living family I did not make anything too artificial. But I think they look yummy anyway  Grin

Thanks for looking!
