21  Reef in Crochet: Completed Projects by Glamis on: July 27, 2013 10:17:09 AM

So I made this for a friend who is into marine biology for his birthday.
I got all the inspiration from google and pinterest
I learned how to crochet "ribs" and corkscrews
Most of the other specimen are just somehow crocheted in rounds with more or less increases
The red coral is armed with a wire that I crocheted around
I tried to use rather "tamed" colors, he is not too much into vivid ones (at least that is my guess)
Lets keep fingers crossed he likes it  Grin

23  Wednesday Addams inspired mermaid poppet in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Glamis on: June 15, 2013 11:55:56 PM
So in the last poppet swap my partner had a lot of interests and I picked two to combine:
Wednesday Addams and mermaids.
I went with the mermaid Silhouette and and gave it a Wednesdayish color scheme and her pigtails of course.

starfish boobies!

here is a better look at her scales. I painted the back of fabric scraps with fabric glue and then cut and sewed on every scale individually. So worth the patience I think ;-) They gradient in size too.

and since she i a bad ass shes got a tattoo

handpainted eyes

and her pet dead fishy

Do you think she is weired?

and she is a giant! Here she is, upright,  with boyfriends legs (in his most dapper pants of course Grin) for size reference

Kookie altered the pattern here and there. See the bent arm (and also the pretty bead decoration)

last but not least a gratuitous kitty shoot

I <3 her. Thank you so much Kookaloo_Starr

I received a supercute package from mthrasher138  yesterday

First I opened a hoop of a Maryland Blue Crab that is local to her area. Isn't it gorgeous?
I love how the pattern of the fabric makes up for the pattern of the crab..

then there was a keepsake box with a superhot, redhead  Tongue merman on it

inside I found an cool octopus keychain. I love how alien-ish the octopus looks

and there was also a pretty dapper crocodile coaster. Am I the only pervert who thinks that thing in his hand looks like a penis? Well, i like odd stuff like that!  Grin

finally a cute butterfly card, some candy and some bottle caps

Thank you mthrasher138 very much for a very, very nice package!

27  simple cross stitched purses in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Glamis on: April 26, 2013 10:58:13 AM

Hi guys!
I made a bunch of the purses.
They are just a simple rectangle, closed with a zipper and fully lined.
I also added a cord.
I made the cross stitch motif by drawing a grid on the back of the faux leather and then applied the pattern.
The cross stitch is made with thin, acrylic wool.
Here are the results

and here is a compilation of the linings

I am totally unsatisfied with the "ending" of the zipper. Have to work on that.
How do you like them?

28  Re: One Tiny Monster Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Glamis on: April 23, 2013 02:30:44 AM

Prepare for some monsterlicious AWESOMENESS!

What might be hiding in that crate I got from suereal?

a scary, fury monster! Look at his teeth! And the eyes! And the claws! Isn't he gorgeous?!

the right (and a better look at the ears) The nose is hilarious

the left (that little molar..)

the back (he might be some kind of monster authority wearing a star...)

the bottom. He has a butthole. Or maybe those are his monster parts? Not quite sure...

and the best feature: he can "eat" things (my third word was hoggish, isn't that clever?!)

plus: a ton of cool skull related extras: beads, stickers, pendants, bandana, a handmade eyeball necklace (glow-in-the-dark!) and that three eyed bunny pendant is handmade too I guess (and glow-in-the-dark!), eye stickers and candy bars (aka stuffing material  Wink)

Thank you so much sureal! I LOVE my monster and the necklace and all the extras. Since I have a habit for naming things: He goes by Bernie now.  Grin

I received from noushi yesterday!

A simple but lovely zombie matchbox. Love his rotten teeth  Cheesy
In there were supercute stickers (the yellow butterfly is on my phone now), a bead pendant, some skulls, a sparkling button, a length of nicest colored green rigrack and best of all a small spoon and fork. I might turn them into earrings.

Thank you verymuch noushi for a wonderfull box
