1  Re: 4x6 Art Swap - June 2015 in The Swap Gallery by Glamis on: July 03, 2015 12:37:20 AM

I received a summery collage from crazyda79. And it perfectly suits the heat wave we are having in Germany (35C/95F). It is also backed with foam rubber so I can take it to the beach and it will float  Wink
Thanks crazyda79!

2  Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap Round 17 Gallery (SO 2/23/2015) in The Swap Gallery by Glamis on: May 14, 2015 12:08:32 PM

I FINALLY received from Alexus 1325. Hope there is still someone on here to admire all the pretty things
Here is what was outside the MYB: pom pom makers (waaay better then the ones I uses before), stickers, the project: a shell stitched vest/cardi and beautiful teal colored wool blend yarn

close up of one of my favourite extras:

there was more: an awesome knitted pencil shaped pouch, Batman colored (yellow, blue) handspun(?) wool and 2 3D Batman journals

that was in the the ball: all kinds of different buttons, glas beads, a supercool knitted grenade shaped pouch and a tentacle pendant that was unfortunately broken and one piece is miraculously missing. In the upper right corner is the beautiful rainbow colored sock yarn everything was wrapped in

and a group shoot of all the wool I got

Thank you so much Alexus 1325, the package was well worth the wait. I love everything  and cant wait to start crocheting!

After 1 month, 3 weeks and 2 days my package from suereal FINALLY arrived. And it was so worth the wait (as I expected)  Cheesy

Without further ado and because I am so stoked:

A hand painted plate. That, according to the website on the sticker on the back, is a kit that you paint, send in and then the company that sell those fixes it. Best thing: It is dishwasher safe. How cool!

A potholder (?) and a set of coasters. All painstakingly quilted and neatly bound. I love how colorful they are.

I tried to snap a close up of the the quilting

And more awesomeness: It is reversible! It has skulls on the back!  Shocked

A purse (here is a text she enclosed)
Only recently discoverd, this relative of the Common House-Fly is the largest fly ever recorded in
modern history. So large, in fact that they are being used as handbags in some parts of the world.
They have relatively small eyes for their body mass, but the inner facial bone is quite strong and
works as an effective handle. The spectacular Golden Lips are strong enough to work as a quite
sturdy clasp. Once dried, the inner lining of the fly take on a silk-like texture and all signs of its
origin seemingly evaporates. There are two ways to wear the GLUHF. One is to wear it facial bone
up. There are two sturdy link bones (belived to once encase venom sacks) at the jaw point. Or, you
can hang it from jaw point to...um..a strong bone at the back end of the creature. This particular
   specimenhas a parasitic wasp attached."

Here is a close up of the parasitic wasp (that one really cracked me up) and the construction of the wings , that double as little pockets. It is wire somehow fused into some plastic stuff. How did you make that sureal?

And here is a picture of the "intestine" colored lining

I believe that is one of my favorite things ever received in a swap and I have been prancing around with it the whole day

I also got some cute "packing material" (temporary tattoos, dragonfly ribbon (that is washable so I assume I can put it on clothing) and a candy bar)

Thank you so very much suereal. I LOVE everything  Cheesy

So I made this painstaking tissue box cover for my friend Trees and our annual Halloween swap.
I Hello Kittified classic Horror film charcters. Two things she loves.
It is made from mini pearler/fuse beads and my own designs.
Unfortunately the edge are a bit awry.

Pinhead (Hellraiser)

Jason (Friday the 13th)

Freddy (A Nightmare on Elm Street)

the top, the Necronomicon and a chainsaw (The Evil Dead)

The whole thing together

What do you think?

Here is my box from sparkledust. I requested recycled wrapping and she did a very creative job. I am so excited!

A fabric mouse. Love the little nose. I assume it is a pin cushion?

Three glittery witch ornaments. I really cant tell if they are store bought or DIY...

Cool Skull and spider felt cutouts and tiny, colorful skeleton magnets

An owl sleeping mask. Right when I needed a new one because I left my old on a plane. I love the color.

Cupcake liners and toppers plus a yummy muffin recipe. I love muffins but I dont think I can find canned pumpkin here. I assume I can substitute with cooked one, right?! Or can I just use fresh, grated pumpkin?

A handstitched key fob. Can you see all the tiny, accurate stitches? Wow!

a Halloween themed table runner. I love the little pompom trim.

Here is a close up of the pretty fabric:

A ghost hoop. It is made with glow-in-the-dark thread and yes, sparkledust, it works!

A heap of Halloween themed fabric. Now I am prepared for next years swap  Wink Grin

DAY 10

A pretty patchwork pyramid pouch (ahhh, I love alliterations  Cheesy) with little skulls on it.

plus some fancy buttons

DAY 11

Another pouch with "brain" spiders on it and some Halloween confetti

DAY 12

A tiny patchwork pin cushion for my collection! Yeah!

A bracelet kit. I love dahlias! And bracelets!

As it now all comes to an end  Cry I want to thank Sparkledut for a wonderful swap! I especially admire your immaculate sewing skills. I really hope you had an awesome 1st Mini-Halloween swap. See you all next year ?!?

8  Re: Under the Sea gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Glamis on: August 13, 2014 03:02:18 AM

I received an anglerfish too! Ptarmic wumpus made me the most perfect, handfelted girl (the card included says it is a she). It is hollow so you can hide things i it.  Shocked

Look at the puffy tongue! Look at the awesome teeth! What are they made of? It doesnt really look like polyclay....And the mouth is wired too,

And the best thing: It light up! There is a LED in the "antenna"

Thank you so much ptarmic wumpus, she is absolutely fantastic and I cant stop looking at her.
P.S. I also got a box of old bay seasoning  Grin

9  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery, 2014 in The Swap Gallery by Glamis on: July 21, 2014 01:09:07 PM

I know I am very, very late! But I had my annual private Mini Halloween swap 2013 with monkey_girl and wanted to share the awesome stuff:

Day one:

creepy stationary. I ecspecially love the pencil case

Day two:

a bunch of fingerless gloves. I already received some in last years swap but it is always great to have a decent variety, right?! Plus black nail polish. My favourite are the rainbow striped ones.

Day three:

Some hoops. I love the kittie ones. I hung them over the scratching post.. Grin

Day four:

"A few things to add a touch of Halloween for my wardrobe"

Day five:

A cross stitched hoop. Design is by her boyfriend. Talented, right?!

Day six:

a wee pouch filled with crafty bits and pieces. In my oinion you can never have enough of that  Wink

Day seven:

She includes a craft book every year. This time I got a steampunk one. I am not very much into steampunk but this book has a lot of inspiration.

Day eight:

An "attachable" fake fur collar plus two brooches (skull one by her boyfriend)

Day nine:

Some beauty product (that I seem to be allergic to although theyre natural, damn) in a pouch, felted soaps and mirror stickers (reusable, yeah!)

Day ten:

Creepy kitchen stuff. Handmade coaster, straws and glasses

Day eleven:

Was "boyfriend" day. He got laces, a patch and a vintage horror book (I stole the patch, bf is not into bold colors, or colors at all...weirdo  Grin)

Day twelve:

A pouch, some badges and a reversible headband. Those kittie and ghost badges are funny because our cat usually sits in the middle of the room starring into the air and we often joke: look she is talking to her ghost friends.

Day thirteen:

Sorry, no photo. But it was a lantern, a yo yo and a printed framed canvas
I think I also got a twinkie chan crochet book but also no pic, Sorry!

I was fun as usually and I am looking very forward to this years loot! Thanks monkey_girl!  Smiley
