13  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Matchbox Advent Calendar on: November 08, 2011 03:09:17 PM
I know there has been a lot of them posted on here but I just love them! This was my first attempt at it and it was so easy. I made it out of matchboxes and some thin cardboard.

I ended up filling it with some buttons, little plastic glittery animal shapes, rubber ducky pushpins, chocolates, and other knick knacks and gave it to my sister.

I am in love with the scrapbooking paper I used as well. It was one of those things where I was finally ok with using a piece of it ( I only have 2 sheets of it) because I knew it would look good on this project.

36. Make a reusable Advent Calendar

Decided to make it for my sister so I could fill it with all sorts of things for her. I filled it with buttons, rubber ducky push pins, scrapbooking whimsies, and Werthers Chocolates

How did you attach the circles? I was given a bag of circles and some of them are already attached but I can't figure out what they did to fill in the gaps, It looks like stars.

I'm very bad at crochet talk but maybe this will make some sense, i'll try my hardest.

in each circle i ended up with 12 sets of 3 dc's. to make it squarish you ch 2, 2dc, then ch 1, 3dc in the same space. then ch 1 and move to the next space. 2dc, ch 1, move to the next space, 2dc, ch 1, move to the next space, 3 dc ch1 3 dc in the same space. and keep doing this. So the (3 dc, ch 1 3dc) become your corners.

sad drawing because my explanation is trying.
So when you are joining you join them where you would ch1.

Here is the pattern too

I absolutely love white/off-white with bright colours. My hubby says now that i'm done it's time for me to start his blanket....in stripes...in dark grey, light grey, and white... I'm sure after that I'll want to do something in bright colours again lol

I used the Stitch Nations Copenhagen Pillow pattern to make this throw. I used 7 different colours plus the off-white. I love the way it turned out, it's so happy and colourful. Not one circle is the same.

45. Make myself a blanket using Stitch Nation's Copenhagen Pillow pattern

DONE! Made it as just a throw so big enough to cuddle with. Not one circle is the same. I used 7 different colours and then the off-white for the borders. I think it turned out very cute Smiley
