This is gorgeous! Your friends look stunning! I think I'm going to have to make one of these dresses. Talk about "goes with anything."
282  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Re: First Post.... Fun Retro Dress (Butterick 4790) on: October 15, 2006 06:59:38 AM
Just wanted to let you all know that I just saw tha Jo-ann's is having a 99 cent sale on all Butterick and McCalls patterns next Friday and Sat (Oct 20 and 21).  I plan on picking up this pattern as long as they still have copies....There is a limit of 10 patterns so I think that I will have to drag hubby along so he can "buy" some too!
(I hope that this is OK to post!...if not I'm sorry)

Hahaha I was just about to say this! This dress looks amazing! I'm def a curvy gal and I've just recently started really sewing things for myself. I'm tired of not being able to find clothes that fit the way I want them to.

You did such a great job with this. I'm really in awe of the dress. It looks beautiful on you. I hope you enjoy the picnic too, Wink

This is such a great idea! I'd like to have one that was three times this size maybe, to hang over the stove in the kitchen!

It looks so real, you did an awesome job.
285  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: !!Adult Content!! I need advice! Pic heavy on: October 15, 2006 06:38:39 AM
I think they're beautiful.

I AM a celebratory type of person. But, not just of vaginas. I just love the human body and how it works. I paint a lot of vaginas and breasts and mouths and elbows and belly buttons and ankles.

I think what you've done is great and I would most certainly buy one!
286  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: I don't want to be the latest trend!! on: October 14, 2006 11:43:09 AM
I've been in this situation before, and while it is annoying there is a bright side.

I finally realized two things; while it's annoying imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and that some people aren't so lucky to be comfortable in who they are. You're best bet is to be friendly but firm if they start to cross a line. In the end your kindness may help them find the "real them" someday.

As far as the class thing goes, I would tell her that you'd love to help her but that it has to be after class!
