12  Nerd XL t-shirt to sweet apron! (Pic heavy) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by NixArmageddon on: January 20, 2007 10:16:12 PM
Ok, this isn't really done, I still have to do one more hand embroidery and sew the pockets on. But, HOLY CRAP! This is probably the coolest AND nerdiest thing I've ever made.

Joshua, my lover, wearing the apron.

Back detail of the strings to tie it, Made from the contrasty fabric and bias tape.

This is a close up view of the contrasting fabric I used on the side. It is space and HOLY CRAP is it amazing!

A close up of the front of the apron. I LOVE LEONARD NIMOY. FOR REAL.

Hand embroidery of the starfleet emblem. I am also making an embroidery of the enterprise itself. These will be the designs on the pockets on the front of the apron.

I'm torn on whether I want to say this is "done" or if I want to add the pockets etc.

Suggestions?

I am so proud of myself. I love this thing so much. I can't wait to have it completed. I am in love with Leonard Nimoy, all over again.

I'm off to try to find Star Trek TNG on television.

14  Hot Pink Punk Rock Zombie (VERY IMG HEAVY) in Halloween Costumes by NixArmageddon on: November 01, 2006 01:22:31 PM
In a last ditch effort to get dressed up this year I decided to go with a mix of kitsch and gore. The 1980's punk rock prom-queen zombie seemed just right. I found the dress at a Goodwill and it fit near perfectly, I did a few alterations here and there to finish it up. I took in the sides and added an underskirt that was full of tafetta to give the outer skirt some more bounce to it. I also used tons of spider webbing, "spooky" netting, and more tafetta on the outside. My favorite part was the shaw I constructed to hide my tattoos while at the office. I covered it in tons of dirt and various paint colors to give it the "just out of the grave" look. I then hot glued neon colored bugs, worms, and reptiles all over it. The finishing touches were torn up fishnets, pink socks, my chucks, and a ton of jewelry.

I also made the earrings that I'm wearing.

I'm rocking the "Braaainnns" face.

A close up so you can see the earrings.

The back.

Close up detail.

Enjoy, I know I did!

15  Artic Zombie Penguin! (IMG HEAVY) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by NixArmageddon on: October 20, 2006 04:14:04 AM
After seeing all the great craftsmanship of the various zombie toys on here I decided to make one of my own. He was fun, and while he didn't turn out exactly as I had planned I still think he's pretty ok.

Let me know what you guys think...
