hey everyone, i really want to make the spiderman hat and my mum recently gave me a couple of balls of debbie bliss cashmerino chunky in a lovely colour pink but i was just wondering whether this would be suitable for this hat. or if i'd need to make any changes or just use a different yarn! i'm a pretty new knitter so have no idea!! Cheesy

hey everyone, i hope someone can help me with this, i am a very new knitter so take pity on me. i started this ages ago but have been totally bogged down in work so haven't done anything for weeks. i'm doing the front yoke at the moment and i thought i had it all worked out, put the first lot of stitches on my holder - finished off half of the yoke and went back to do the other half and realised i couldn't work out how to do it. should i have tied another ball on after i put the stitches on theholder to do the other side?
i hope my question makes sense, i feel like a bit of a fool, this is the first time i've knitted anything that isn't a scarf!!

oh no, i've done the ribbing at the top of the sweater in the big needles,, is that wrong? i thought it looked a bit saggy.
only finished the front at the moment, got distracted!

Ok , so i'm making this in woolease, in a nice blue colour, i'm a very slow knitter so i'm so impressed that i've finished the back and i'm about half way through the front i've added about 3 inches on the length. i'm pretty short but i know i won't wear it if it doesn't meet my waistband i'm fussy like that!! i'm so excited this is my first proper sweater.
if it works i plan on making another in bright pink as well, so let me know how yours turns out, pirate kittie. Grin

Hi,
I've been following this thread for a while now and i'm looking for some suitable yarn, I don't know if this is a really stupid question but when the pattern says 4st - 1 inch, does that mean on the 5mm needles or the larger. not gott any good yarn shops near me so ordering off the internet and don't want to get anything unsuitable!
thanks
