Working on:
Pair of thrummed mittens for me
Molly Weasley's cardigan from Charmed knits (for me)
Pair of socks for one of my kids
Second of a pair of mittens for one of my kids cos she lost one (the day after I had finished them too - Grrrr)

Planning to make:
Entrelac scarf/shawl/wrap thingy
Scarf for my hubby
More socks for me, DH and the kids
Blanket for a friends baby

What can I do with yarn that seems to need v. small needles? Working on such small yarn so that it looks ok makes my jaw hurt  Sad

You could always double up two or even three or four thicknesses of the thinner yarn to make it aproximate the thickness of the others....  that way you can use larger needles to knit it with

I used soakers on all 4 of my kids and they were the best diaper covers out
