I like the blurred stencil effect.  It gives it a kind of urban/graffiti feel.  Cool project!

Hope this little tip on painting helps.  Rosemaling is a traditional scandinavian painting technique that I'm not particularly fond of but it does require steadiness of hand.  In order to do this, the painters hold the brush in their dominant hand (duh..) and rest it on the opposite wrist to steady it.  The subordinate arm (from the elbow down to the hand) should be resting on the work surface as well as your dominant elbow.  I don't know.  I've used this in the past for tricky, delicate work, and it's worked ok for me.  Thanks!

Gotta love that little guy!  I had totally forgotten about him until I found your project.  Great idea and thanks for bringing me back to my childhood.  I also loved the poor guy trying to cross the bridge... he always ran into that nasty wizard who ate all his groceries.  Stupid gluttonous wizard.
