evidently this is REALLY old thread but i'm gonna post anyway

another idea (esp for you dorm kids) might be to add a hem around your piece of cloth forming a track for a draw string.  maybe you could pull it tight and achieve the same great effect w/o damaging school property

Perhaps you might add a sturdy ribbon or fabric trim. Just enough to clean up the edges and conceal the backing.
