1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / HELP! I'm stuck... on: December 16, 2007 11:30:59 AM
School doesn't get out until the 21st, so I've had no time to think about presents and I'm really stuck for ideas. Anything come to mind?

Mom-- professional chef, speaks French, loves to travel
Dad-- really hard to shop for-- retired cop, likes electronics and politics
Brother 1- 22, also a chef, very punk/off center, likes Hunter Thompson, Vonnegut, Kerouac, etc.
Brother 2- 20, in college, kinda a math geek, works in programming, majoring in applied mathmatics.

BRAIN BLOCKAGE is intense right now, any help would be great.
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / My heart in my hand-- on: November 24, 2007 12:26:37 AM
I'm seriously tired of intolerance. And people who are very close to me believing that certain people don't deserve the rights of others. So, from a quiet, republican, straight, christian girl, here's what's on my heart--

for the inspiration and the stencils-- this girl deserves some props.

Anyway, there's today's statement. Decided to share it Smiley
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / I DON'T WANT TO GIVE IT UP! (Swap spoiler-- mrs.benjimadden, stay away!) on: July 01, 2007 12:21:54 PM
I made this for the decorated tee-shirt swap. mrs.benjimadden said fight club was her favorite movie, so I made her this shirt.

I'm gonna have to make another one for myself. The heart is hand sewed and everything else is stenciled/painted. Opinions?
4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / favorite thing yet-- hot air balloon tote on: May 25, 2007 10:10:26 PM
This is my favorite thing I've made by far. No one at school believes that I did it myself. I love how the hot air balloon looks faded and vintage because of the splattering technique.

I love this bag! What do you think?
5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / i wear my hearts on my tree. on: May 17, 2007 08:34:06 PM
Saw something like this about six months ago and finally decided to make my own version (with a little help from Stencilry, of course). Unfortunately, I ran out of freezer paper when I began this endeavor, so most of my lines are a little messier than I'd like them to be. Anyway.

I really like the silver/turquiose combo. What do you think? Also, I'm thinking of adding some sort of phrase/quote on the back. Any ideas?
6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Death wears a cute bow. on: August 23, 2006 08:01:06 PM
Okay, this is really simple, but I'm relatively new to stenciling and trying to get used to it :-) It was inspired by this shirt: http://www.glarkware.com/securestore/c181846p16284892.2.html

(I love all their stuff. It amuses me to no end.) But I liked the title of the shirt so much I couldn't stand to buy the shirt without the phrase "death wears a cute bow."

So, what did I do... STENCIL!

MY shirt with my stencil face.

Closeup. I really like how it turned out, kind of textured and cracked, that was how I wanted it.

So, irony of ironies, I was getting ready to take a picture of my favorite part (and the whole reason I made the shirt in the first place) and my camera crapped out. But on the lower back, it says, in the same pink as the bow, "death wears a cute bow."

Anyway, I like it. Do you?
7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Mystical much? on: July 06, 2006 02:14:11 PM
My new shirt... my mom wanted me to make something "mystical and magical," so I made this.

Me with my classic "stencil face" and the biggest hair since 1970.

Close up of the unicorn... I totally messed up when I was cutting it, but whatever.

Just to show an idea of the back... It says "Unicorns don't care if you believe in them anymore than you care if they believe in you."

Whatcha think?
8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / my first stencil-- kissy shirt on: June 19, 2006 04:13:44 PM
This is the absolute first thing I've ever made in my entire life. The Scrabble letters were seriously the first time I've ever sewn anything. It's not fabulous, but I'm proud of my first attempt.

Anyway, that's my shirt! What do you think?
