1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: Pets or weird people doing weird things to your craft.... on: May 19, 2007 11:05:47 PM
This is common, but my cat refuses to let me work. I'll lay the fabric down and start cutting, and the cat will lay RIGHT ON TOP of the sissors. Its like, "dude, your gonna get cut."

So then I have to stop, and shoo him away, just to have my Yorkie Terrior come up and think she's the boss, start barking and then grab the fabric with her teeth and drag it off.

It happens every time I swear.

(And my mother asks me why I keep the door shut when I work... Humph!)

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Hip Surgery Gift. on: March 17, 2007 08:34:40 PM
For some reason, the saying "you're so hip" or a variation of that pops to mind ~ perhaps a photo-realistic penguin wearing an iPod?  or a collage (to then iron on a shirt) where you have a fav band's photo and replace the lead singer with a penguin/s?

And we just got a children's book for our kids that may make a funny cute get well gift -- Your Personal Penguin by Sandra Boynton.

Hope he gets well soon!

Oh my gosh. The "Your So Hip" thing is so cute. And I'll go check the book out (even if it isnt his style, I like childrens books. Haha) Thanks so much!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Hip Surgery Gift. on: March 17, 2007 01:30:06 AM
So, my boyfriend just got surgery to replace part of his hip. And I want to get him something cute and sentimental as a gift. Problem is, I dont know what to get him.
He's 15, adores 80's rock (Queen. Meatloaf. Styx. Journey.) Our circle of friends have a inside joke with him about Penguins (if that gives anyone any ideas)

I am willing to answer any questions if you have any. Haha.  Cheesy
Thanks you guys are lifesavers.
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Help! Band Mates + Best friend... AND NO GIFTS! on: November 10, 2006 10:45:27 PM
Okay. Me and my best friends decided to celebrate Christmas SUPER early this year, because 2 of my friends are going on a road trip with their family, and my boyfriend is going to see his family on the other side of the state. So its just going to be me and another friend this Christmas. Which, isnt fun. So, like I said: Early Christmas anyone?

I have about a month, around 100 dollars, and 4 friends. 3 of which are my band mates. Any ideas on what to get them? Uh, I got some information on each of them, so you can help me out.

Info: (Please note. Names have been cut out for security purposes. Sorry! I am overprotective. I know!)

My Boyfriend: We've been together since 6th grade (its now 9th.) And we're really happy together (Please. If your one of those people that is against Young-Love. Dont crush my dreams.) He wears a lot of black (Black hair, eyeliner, black clothing, fingerless gloves, etc etc.) and loves metal music. He plays guitar and is a lead vocalist. Favorite band is Slipknot. Loves Horror movies.((I was thinking to make a jacket or something out of a Thrifted slipknot shirt. Any suggestions?))

Friend # 1: I've known him since Kindergarden, He's a metalhead. Refuses to cut his hair. He has a great sense of humor and plays the drums. BUT. He already has 3 good pairs of drumsticks. So please dont suggest getting him drumsticks! Favorite Band is Haste The Day ((Should I get him the new cd?))

Friend # 2: Known him since 4th or 5th grade. He's also a metalhead. He's pretty spazzy most of the time. He's highly dedicated to his guitar and if you hand him a peice of sheet music he will memorize it and learn to play it within 10 mins. Favorite band is Norma Jean. He likes watching Shaun Of The Dead with me  Grin

Friend # 3: My BEST friend. I've known him for a year now, and we're so close. He likes J-Pop, J-rock, Manga, French music, Anything non-mainstream. He's bisexual. Doesnt play any instruments. He isnt a metalhead, He's more of a nerd (Dont take that the wrong way. I love nerds!) Um, His nickname is Squirrel (dont ask why.)

Any suggestions? I am open to anything. I'd rather have it be DIY though, to save a little bit of cash.

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Eek!...I got 10 days and a Green Day CD... on: August 25, 2006 01:08:08 PM

-any way to funk-ify some headsets for listening to music but keep them practical? Undecided

Um, My friend took super glue, and some fake jewels that she got frome a local craft store, the kind with one side flat, and she super glued them onto the outer earpeice of the headset. You could always do that. Or spray paint them, stencil them, put stickers on them, Possiblities are endless really.
