1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Rusted Root on: October 01, 2007 09:02:56 PM
I'm glad to help! I hope my notes made sense. Good luck! Smiley

Thanks, everyone! This design has a pretty simple silhouette, so it's perfect for tweaking to fit your particular curves. I love the top-down-ness of it, so you can try it on as you go, and that there was almost no finishing to do at the end! Smiley

I finished mine recently...
I made some modifications, especially to the neckline. I call mine Square Root! I love this top; it fits so well.

More info on my blog, Ravelry page, or Flikr page.

Thanks, nevergirl! I'm sorry to tell you that Lana D'Oro was discontinued a year or two ago, but the pattern is still floating around and I'm sure you can find something that you love. I showed the sweater to my mom yesterday and of course it fits her perfectly (she said she wants "hers" to have longer sleeves... I guess that means she wants me to knit one for her, too?? haha!), so I was all jealous that it fits her bod right now and I'll have to wait until after my baby is born to see if it will fit me as well.  Cheesy

Patience... grr...!

I finally took pictures of my finished Shawl Collared Pullover, too! Too bad my 7-month preggo belly is preventing me from taking a modeled picture...  Cheesy

I made mine with heathered purple Cascade Lana d'Oro, just over 10 skeins.

If anyone out there is still considering making this sweater, I highly recommend it. It's a very well written pattern and is easy to follow. There are more details at my blog.

Cheers!
6  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Glampyre's new bulky cable sweater on: December 27, 2005 05:33:40 PM
I do like 3/4 sleeve cardis, but I wonder if it would be practical with such a bulky knit? What did you decide to do?

I'm still looking at this pattern and wondering about the sizes listed (I haven't bought it yet). Are the sizes listed the finished sizes? For example, she says her Medium = 36-40" bust. So is it meant to be made for a gal with a 36-40" bust, or is the finished size somewhere around 36-40" big? Hmmm.

It looks fantastic! I don't see anything wrong at all with the sleeve caps... it looks like a good fit from here! Kudos!

That's adorable! From here, your duplicate stitch design looks perfect, too. Did you find buttons to match that trim color, or what are you using as closure (if anything)? That's always the toughest part for me.

Karabella Aurora 8 would be an absolute dream. It's really nice to knit with (sproingy and soft), and will be so comfortable and cozy to wear. Especially around the neckline, etc. Go for it and enjoy!!

I love each of these projects but have to say your alteration of the Kittyville hat for your daughter is fabulous! So sweet.
