hi badpuppy - yep, it's just a loop closure in the crocheted chain. You can close it around the button on the end, or any of the others if you like. The others are just sewn on below the end button.

Thanks everybody!

feets - if you start with instructions for a felted vessel, over a bowl or balloon - you'll get the idea. Can't give away full secrets though as to the latter part of the moulding - it involves further felting though!

Thought I'd post some of my latest felt jewellery creations. These are called felt cocoons. Each cocoon has an object inside. The first, a little owl inhabitant! The second, a felt ball in contrasting vibrant teal. Enjoy!

Thanks Salihan - the buttons really balance out the rest of the necklace. One on its own looked a little... odd  Wink

This was inspired by sublokes "felted rug" project/thread here... Smiley I got very excited by the idea of felted yarn balls, so I tried making some myself from various types of leftover yarn (wool, alpaca, mohair and blends of these)... it was hard work, but I ended up with some balls I was happy with and made this necklace. I hope you like it. It's asymmetrical, meaning I've strung the beads from smallest to biggest, and the closure is on the side.
