1  Ami the Amigurumist with the Crafty Caterpillar in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by toriem on: August 24, 2006 03:10:40 AM
I was supposed to enter her into the etsycraft contest where you use the logo "Craft:" in your design.  Unfortunately, I read the deadline wrong, so I completely missed it! Sad

Here she is nevertheless.  She's 9 inches tall.  The caterpillar is detachable.

2  Fish Collar for my Cat! in Crochet: Completed Projects by toriem on: August 12, 2006 01:25:28 AM
I wanted to dress my cat up a little, so I quickly made this for him.  It's not very practical, but I got some great pictures out of it! ^^  Now I want to give him a nice pink bow collar that shows on the back of his neck.  I think he'll look adorable in it.  And I just wanted to say to Penny (that's my cat!) - thanks for putting up with my torture!

Just the fish wrapped around him and his collar before I made his white one.

It's a bit big on this dog :p

Pretty cute on Kero

Best on Penny

There's more cute pics of Penny modeling his spiffy fish collar at http://community.livejournal.com/crochetgrlhotel/2383.html

wow, you guys are good knowing exactly what yarn it is!  It is No Boundaries. At my wal-mart, they have teal, brown, and pink, so maybe I'll try making a family. Cheesy  At my wal-mart, it's still around $2 Sad I wish they had different colors.  I think the brown would be an awesome one to make a teddy bear with - mimic the furry quality.  And definitely, it is a bit difficult because you really can't see what you're doing.  I just stick it in and find a hole, and it works out somehow!

And yes, it is my own pattern!

Here's another fun pic:

4  Fluffy Teal Kiwi Bird in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by toriem on: August 06, 2006 04:25:56 AM
hey guys, I made a kiwi.  The yarn was very fun to use!  It is crocheted, but since the yarn was so fluffy, you really can't see the scs!  It is very soft.

My cousin playing with it:

He wanted it to have short stubby wings.  He likes to play catch with it.

I even made a video of the kiwi flying.... it's pretty stupid hehe Cheesy

7  from the crochet hotel: my ami thread (now with Poring and Jenny the Rocker) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by toriem on: June 28, 2006 10:46:44 PM
Hi guys, I'm new here, but I recently learned to crochet and I've gone crazy for those crocheted stuffies.  I hope to use this thread to post all the arigurumi stuff I make.  I was trying to post this last night, but for some reason craftster doesn't seem to work in the middle of the night, so I lost everything I wrote.

Well anyhow, I made a Tori Amos arigurumi; which is where I got my thread title from.  I scanned her in and made a gif of her doing the cornflake dance (my reference being this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0J_zaWbNgQ&search=cornflake%20dance) - gotta luv that crazy Pele Tori.  I'll have to post some pics of her playing piano sometime Smiley.  I also made a crochet blog at lj (http://crochethotel.livejournal.com using my Tori arigurumi as the theme.

So without further adieu, I give you the dancing Tori!

8  Re: Amineko (amigurumi cat) Crochetalong Anyone? in Crochetalongs by toriem on: May 20, 2006 02:56:08 PM
So I finally registered so I can post here.  I just started crocheting and I love these arigurumi creatures.  And I adore cats so I knew I had to give this a try.  He's my first arigurumi.  I made it for my friend's b-day.  I got really attached to him and he was really hard to give away!!  Well, so here he is!  He likes to play piano Cheesy

And my fav. picture of all:

I think he looks so peaceful.  I envy him  Cheesy

I made a matching card using photos of him too.  Maybe I should post that at the paper forum...

Next after I make a kitty or 2 for myself... I think it would be fun making a bear and dog from these patterns making adjustments, and maybe other animals as well...?
