i hope you enjoyed it, its getting too hot to wear it down here in GA, but damned if i don't wear it anyways

so i only recently picked up the needle and floss again after a 14-year hiatus? I leanred from my grandma when i was small but never really got into it again until now. these are my first few projects, in chronological order...


this was my second attempt... a swallow. my first attempt was some god-awful ltus flower that i lost. i just drew it on the material (a cut-up pair of men's pants) and went from there. I think the stitches I used were satin stitch and split stitch but i'm not sure.

my next attempt was on an actual piece of clothing. i made this hooded shrug but it was too plain so i jazzed it up a bit with evil/good robots!!

next i decided to do something for a friend of mine. i embroidered her name with a lotus flower and an om sign. the color of her name is a maroon color ith gold drop shadow, it looks darker in the picture.






and the most recent one (also my personal fave!) is this crazy psychedelic owl i made for my friend danielle. i think she's gonna make it into a patch.

i've been meaning to do something with this fabric for ages. it's got shiny silver thread in it!

i wish i had an action shot. maybe tomorrow. it's made out of crinkly cotton, kind of gauzy... great for warm weather! the buttonholes are all functional~ i can't believe i was patient enough for that it's crazy twirly, thought i havent "dance floor tested" it yet.

I'm thinking it might need a little embellishment, but i'm not sure. any suggestions are appreciated.

so i had a size M gym class heroes tee, the "party crab" edition. no before pics, but here's an after:




i cut up an old tank top (the blue) and changed around the neckline, added a band to the bottom and the sleeves, and also took it in to make it more slim fitting.

i puckered the bust darts so it kinda looks like i have my "headlights" on but i am hoping people won't notice, haha.

i like it, its so comnfy and it matches my silverballet flats

i was pretty bored with them, so i ripped all the stuff off 'em and reconned 'em into these babies:



it was my first at shoe reconning, i used a hot glue gun and the "fold over" method. the blue is bias tape. the buttons have anchors on them, even though you cant really see.





theyre about a size too big, which sucks, but i'll wear them anyway

Well I made this about three months and ten pounds ago, haha. I had my mom's camera the other day and thought, "hey i never put this on craftster, i'll take some pics" and let me tell you it was a SQUEEZE! maybe after i get my lazy ass to the gym i'll bust it out, haha. anyways, here it is:

I know we've all seen those stuffed tubes people make to block chilly drafts from coming into the house under the doors. Well I want to make one for my car.

Let me explain. I drive a 1994 Chevy Crapalier which is on its way out. The driver's side (power) window will no longer go up or down and is stuck about a 1/2 inch from the top. This makes it very noisy when driving on the interstate, not to mention chilly during the winter. It's also bad for gas mileage.

What would be the bext way to do this? i want it to be removable, because it's hot during the summer. The best idea I had so far was making a tube and stapling elastic straps to the car's ceiling to hold it in place, but I don't know how I'd attach it to the window part. any help would be greatly appreciated!
