HI everyone, this is my first post, although I've been an avid DIY-er for years. I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to join. You all have inspired my so much!
Here's some things I've been up to lately:

My grandma gave me this HUGE light blue tee. I liked the design (It says something about environmental education, and I'm a big treehugger.) But it was... well look at it. Gross. So I turned it into...

It didn't turn out exactly like I wanted. I was trying to do that off-the-shoulder band top I've seen around here but I totally messed it up. the band was too loose and wouldn't stay on my shoulders and you could see my boobies.

So I had to improvise. I pulled the fabric together at the front and cut two holes, pulled a band of leftover fabric through and tied it. I think it worked out okay. I like the cowl effect in the back. I'm wearing it right now, actually!
And now for the next one. I was a little apprehensive about this because the lighter red tee is my FAVORITE shirt. It's an Ani Difranco tee that I got at her concert a few years ago. But my grandma (I get a lot of clothes from my granny, hehe) had given me this huge ugly burgundy polo that I thought went well with the color of the Ani tee. Here they are in all their crimson glory:

I married them, and now they will live out their lives together as this spiffy shirt:

Basically I took the sleeves and collar from the polo and put them on the tee. I runched the sleeves and the seam connecting the sleeves and collar and also added the band at the bottom to give it a lil length. I love it!
I saved the best for last! Another grandma goodie, haha. I paired this ugly blue nightgown:

with the polo from the above shirt to make this!:

I lovelovelove it. It has ruffled sleeves, look!:

And little heart appliqués! The neckline was a bitch to do but I think it turned out well. I wore it to lunch today.
Well thanks for existing, Craftster! Hopefully I can hit up some yard sales tomorrow and find more clothes just waiting to be hacked up and show all you guys!
