1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: "Love(d)" painting series on: May 25, 2008 11:00:00 AM
i'm just curious about your little experiment, did you love the third guy the most?
i know loving someone the "most" is lame cos love can't be measured and everything...but somehow...his portrait seems the most intimate.
i am sorry, i'm really a busy body. :|

Absolutely fabulous.

I visited Bolivia about 2 1/2 years ago and LOVED the indigenous clothing.

are you serious!?that's awesome!mostly i meet backpackers who just pass by bolivia on their way to peru and such...i know...ethnic costume in south america is very important to the indigenous people.
Gosh no certainly did not pass it by, we spent nearly 4 weeks in Bolivia, and loved it all - we even saw in the New Year there! The colours and patterns of the ethnic costumes were so amazing. The embroidery and colours on your dress reminds me of it.  Smiley

i haven't been back in 10 years.
i really miss it.
where are you from?

thats fantastic! i particularly love the shape of the top half, with the different fabric above the bust shape. (im not describing it very well)  i attempted a dress like that recently but after major fustration screwed it up at hid it in the back of my sewing cupbord..

the secret is in pinning the fabrics together before sewing.it really helps when sewing curves!!

Also, is that the "in" thing to do now with zippers?  We had a couple dresses (I work for Banana Republic) that came out for Spring that had the zipper not match up with/under the fabric.  I'm not knocking this, by any means, just really curious.

i saw it in topshop and louis vuitton last ss08 collection as well..the zipper on the outside...i used it to get a more graphic post-modern feel (with the insides being in the outside) but also cos it looked quirky.HAHAHHAHA.
hmmmm come to think of it...i should try and google it actually....i really am not sure how did it start! Smiley
