1  Re: Harry Potter Swap 6 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by derscroot on: September 23, 2009 12:18:27 PM
After a hot, exhausting day, I was so happy to get my goodies from shadowbox in the mail. Smiley

This was the first thing that jumped out at me when I opened the package! XD

The monster book's face is so creepy-cute. I love his little beady eyes!

I stroked the spine of the book, and he let me open it up to see the other goodies...

A bracelet made with butterbeer corks and buttons. Cheesy Luna Lovegood would be jealous. XD

It seems as though Jelly Belly has worked with Bertie Bott to make some "every flavor beans." I may use these to play a trick on my HP-loving roommates later... ha ha ha. XD

Some fabulous feather earrings! Cheesy Yet again, Luna Lovegood would be jealous. XD

I love everything, shadowbox! Thank you!! <3 <3 <3

2  Re: Everything Sanrio Swap! in The Swap Gallery by derscroot on: October 27, 2008 11:41:39 PM
*shifty-eyes*

I'll finally be sending out de.la.dia's box later today when the post office is actually open.

Here's a little teaser pic! Smiley I hope it's OK that I post this here...

And I wrapped everything in reused bags from my trip to the Sanrio store not too long ago so she can have presents to open!

4  pretty green dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by derscroot on: December 22, 2007 09:01:37 PM
I mentioned this when I posted the matching cherry purse on another thread, but I'll mention it again for the kids at home that don't always lurk about in the purses/bags/wallets section of the site...

I'm in my second year of taking fashion production classes at my school - I pretty much get graded to sew cute stuff.

This dress is my most recent project for the class, and was made to match the purse I linked to earlier.

This is it on the dress form in the messy, messy sewing room that my mom and I share.

And this is me wearing the dress and giving a thumbs-up approval in my bathroom. I'm such a dork. XD

The pattern I used was New Look 6699, with bodice G, midriff J, and skirt M. The instructions were pretty easy, especially since this was my first dress.

5  cheery cherry purse! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by derscroot on: December 10, 2007 07:56:38 PM
So I take this fashion class at my school, and we have to make three-piece outfits.

My first piece is this lovely cherry-printed purse. I saw the fabric at Jo-Ann and fell in love with it. Cheesy

Here's the bag on my bed.

Now here it is a little more upright. It's a little droopy.

And here's a view of my school necessities and the lining! I'm using that same green to make a dress for my project.

The pattern is one of the Simplicity Easy-to-Sew patterns, but I don't know the number from the top of my head.

Hope you like it! I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

6  Sailor Jupiter doll in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by derscroot on: June 18, 2007 02:06:41 PM
I was looking at June's featured crochet projects, and DragonRhapsody's Sailor Moon amigurumi inspired me to crochet my own Sailor Senshi doll. Cheesy

Ever since I was a kid, Sailor Jupiter/Lita/Makoto has always been one of my favorite Inner Senshi.

This was my first attempt at making an amigurumi, and I pretty much followed the "Amigurumi Dude" pattern on CrochetMe.

Here's my doll lying on the ground.

(yes, I KNOW I didn't make her tiara thingy. I don't have any yellow yarn at the moment. And I just didn't feel like giving her gloves. xD)

And here's Sailor Jupiter chillaxin' on my bookshelf with some other plushies I've made.

From the left: Cloud and Aeris from Final Fantasy VII, Sailor Jupiter, and a random snowman made from a sock.

I'm quite pleased with how these turned out. :3

The stencil I used is from Stencilry.
