I read this article about crafting (embroidery in particular) in a Dutch newspaper awhile ago and it got me totally inspired to start crafting! So I've been hooked on reading this forum ever since (lurker!
). My first two projects are now finished so I just thought I'd share them with you.The first one is a Subversive Cross Stitch pattern that I made for my sister. I think the classic frame contrasts nicely w/ the subversive message.

The second thing I made is the Andy Warhol banana from a Velvet Underground cd cover.
I made it for a friend whom I haven't seen for a while because she moved to the States.

I made this from a pattern I made by uploading a picture to the Knit Pro web app (http://www.microrevolt.org/knitPro/). I was then busy stitching yellow and black for two weeks! Btw, this picture was taken before washing and ironing as you can see.
