1  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Completed: Amelia Hat from the 2007 calendar on: September 19, 2007 06:43:48 PM

I finished this on Sunday night. I had to make some adjustments in the number of cast-off stitches, to accommodate my gauge (the pattern calls for 4 st/in in stockinette) and my head.

Right now, I am working on a smaller version for my six year old.
2  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / FO: My Hurry Up Spring Armwarmers on: August 15, 2007 06:52:47 PM
Seriously, Spring, hurry-up, because it's so darn hot.

Anyway, here is the first project I have ever actually completed in knitting.

I don't care that they don't quite match. They are so toasty.
3  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Re: My first finished project... cold shoulders capelet... on: September 23, 2006 02:43:00 PM
Your capelet looks great with that top.

Now that's deconstructed!
5  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Go for Baroque (Happy Hooker) Crochetalong on: August 31, 2006 10:30:54 AM
It calls for fingering yarn. I might go to knitpicks. All I found at Jo-Ann's was yarn for baby items and for socks.

I would like to give it a try. Since I will need to make a large size, can anybody suggest some decently priced yarn? I have been buying some very nice yarn lately, and it is doing something nasty to my wallet.
7  UNITED STATES / Nebraska / My LYS closed on: August 27, 2006 07:55:59 AM
My LYS, Threads Too, has closed. There is still a Threads store in town. But there is a difference between being able to drop by on my way from the drugstore and having to take two buses (most likely, with a rather hyperactive five-year-old) to get to my LYS.

Bummer. Now I feel guilty for all those times I ordered yarn online.
8  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: How to take good pictures of my stuff? on: August 24, 2006 07:19:05 AM
I just bought a Styrofoam head for my hats-to-be. That never would have occurred to me before reading this.

Any suggestions for purses?  Should they be held or just displayed? Right now I improvised something using my camera's timer and running in front of the camera.
9  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / What a gorgeous sweater/top! on: August 21, 2006 10:12:46 AM
Seriously. It is beautiful. I wish I was petite enough to wear it. And adding a special surprise gift? Not a bad idea!
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: New member-Crochet Designer on: July 08, 2006 05:57:53 PM
I would love to be a pattern tester too.

More 1- or 2- skein projects, so I can use up my stash.

And patterns to accommodate more sizes. I have trouble finding patterns suitable for my curves.
