1  2 Dresses From Vintage Patterns in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by livelavish on: February 19, 2011 08:22:35 PM

Both were made from sheets.  The blue dress I dyed.  I was hoping for something a little more robins egg, but I like the teal.  I tried to go back around the neck facing on the blue dress with my serger, and ruined it!  You can't see it well in the picture but I took a pretty good chunk off of it.  Oh well, ya gotta learn somehow.

2  Customizing your candles in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by livelavish on: October 13, 2008 08:06:30 PM
I burn candles all the time and always have those ugly burnt up leftover jars sitting around.  The crafty packrat in me wouldn't let me just throw them away after they wouldn't light anymore.

So I bought a pack of wicks, which were super cheap, $2.oo for 1o.  Melted the candles in the oven, cleaned out the jars and decoupaged the outside.  Just some random stuff I found in Juxtapoz.

Anchored the wick with a dab of hot glue, poured wax in jar.  Added some simmering oil I had laying around.
Let cool, and voila.  And I get to recycle the unused jars that I cleaned out.

These were kind of my testers, so they don't look that great but I think the idea has tons of potential.

Great fabric choice!  The pictures are awesome on so many levels.  Hooray for "naked"  pets!

4  Pee Wee Herman! in Stenciling: Completed Projects by livelavish on: July 30, 2008 10:08:54 PM
I actually made this for the Childhood heroes contest, but I couldn't find my camera in time!  I still get this kick ass stencil though...

5  Tattooed rockabilly wedges! in Shoes: Completed Projects by livelavish on: May 06, 2008 09:13:12 AM
Totally inspired by --> http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=212696.msg2284167#msg2284167.  I saw them and  had to take a stab.  I tend to cover everything that doesn't move in flash anyhow.

Here is the before...I picked these up at the local goodwill for $3.98.

And the after.  I attached the polka dot material with hot glue.

I love love love them, but they are too big.  I'm like a  7, maybe 7.5 and I think these may be a 9.  I don't care, I still tromp around in them.  Grin
