2  Selvage chair re-do! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by cre8fmom on: March 14, 2010 05:52:00 AM
Before:

After:

This chair was from my in laws house, and has spent the last 10 years in my basemant.
I started by cutting pieces of muslin as a base, then cut a base of batting. I then pinned selvage strips to create a fabric. Next, I sewed the selvage strips down. I then trimmed everything, and fit the various pieces together. Finally, I stapled it on to the base of the chair

Come take a look on my blog to see how I did it with lots of photos!

7  Oversized tote bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by cre8fmom on: December 16, 2009 01:05:27 PM
My niece Laura recently completed her coursework for a Masters degree in Education.

She hopes to find a job as an English teacher at the High School level.

When I first saw this fabric, I knew I had to make her something from it.

It is oversized, to accomodate her laptop!I used the coordinating black fabric for the bottom, as well as for an insert to make the bottom more sturdy

8  Re: Labeling quilts in Quilting: Discussion and Questions by cre8fmom on: October 25, 2009 07:47:18 AM
I use the cotton fabric sheets that you can print straight from your home printer onto.  I customize the label, print it, and then hand applique it onto the quilt.

This is ultimately what I decided to do.
Here is what I came up with:

label order for quilts: selvage, shoe, strips n curves, judaic stars

Lesson learned: leave more border around each label Smiley

Here is a link to my gallery to view the quilts:
