Inspired by http://mochimochiland.com/ and her teeny tiny knits, I created this little bluebird. He is about 1.5 inches tall.

In case y'all tried the link, the URL is wrong - here's the correct one:
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rainbow-dress

You have to be a member to see, but why wouldn't you want to be a member of Ravelry?

Awesome dress by the way, really nice job with the hand-dyed yarn!

Thanks guys! Yes, that is my garden - it's my favorite spot to photograph my knitted creatures. With all the rain we've had in MN this summer the marigolds grew out of control!

Oooh - I think I have to knit a robot next! He's super cute!!

I created this Ducky for a friend of mine who is having a baby this winter. If you've ever looked for gender neutral baby gifts, you know it's hard! Duck and frog themed items are always a safe bet though.

I didn't follow a pattern, though I was inspired by a bluebird that I knit earlier this year (also no pattern). It's pretty easy to wing it (pun intended) if you know how to knit a sphere.

I wrote a bit more about my duck, bluebird and some other knitting projects on my blog if you're interested:

6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Opinon on Name on: June 16, 2010 01:52:34 PM
I think I would need some more information before giving a proper opinion. What kind of company is it? What kind of image is he/she trying to portray?

Judging just from the name I would guess it's an ice cream store, a wacky children's toy store, joke shop, or maybe eccentric crafty items... whatever it is, it sounds fun, goofy and whimsical.

C totally and you could drop the bird if you're afraid of clarity at really small sizes.
9  UNITED STATES / Minnesota / Re: Best Public Knitting Places in Twin Cities? on: June 16, 2010 01:12:08 PM
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I live in St. Paul, but frequent eastern suburbs and also the Minneapolis area. Just looking for knitting friendly coffee, cafe or wherevers. I used to live just down the street from Borealis, and would pick up a skein or two from there back in the day, but I don't remember Groundswells - I'll have to check that out. Briemarie - where is Crafty Planet?

I also found out that Merlin's Pub has a drunken knitting night and Anodyne Coffeehouse has a community scarf that you can add onto in Minneapolis. Have yet to do the drunken knitting but added on a bit to the community scarf - cool idea!
