YKYACW...
you are talking to a cute guy friend about some of your craft projects and he says that you cant make anything practical, or anything without pop tabs or capri sun pouches, and you say you can and then he challenges you to make a table and some how you agree and you go online to look up how to make a table so that you can impress him...

I'm buying my lumber tomorrow.

183  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Geek Pride Swap Round 2 - Sign-ups 5/31-6/19/06; Sendout 7/10/06 on: June 12, 2006 03:41:57 PM
I cant participate Cry but I thought I'd post my list

1.  My first crush:  Wesley Crusher from Star Trek TNG (Wow, looking back I hate him)
2.  I Listen to Devo
3.  I asked for an unabridged dictionary for Christmas and got it
4.  If I cant name a piece of classical music I can almost always guess the composer.
5.  My brother and I collect Green Acres on DVD, and different versions of monopoly (we have the star wars edition)
6.  I recognized that my Mayors model of the Enterprise was the original from the slight difference in the opening dialogue when I pressed the audio button at age ten
7.  When my school was throwing out old history books for a new version I kept one.
8.  I read about world religions constantly: I can list the four noble truths, eightfold path, the main gods of Hinduism, the religious texts of all the major religions of the world, and I can check those facts in the huge religious encyclopedia that I have yet to return to the library.
9.  My best friend an I used to have sleepovers where we would remorse that Harrison Ford and Mark Hamel were too old for us.
10.  And the big one:
I met two guys at the regional math contest by asking about the caffeine molecule on ones shirt, and started a conversation that went through topics like the education system, government, and evolutionary debate, the entire works of Douglas Adams, after which I got the high score on ones laptop at minesweeper.  We met up at the state competitions a month later.

Wow, I feel geeky just reading this!

185  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Swaps for Emilys, Jessicas, and the like on: May 29, 2006 11:01:44 AM
Okay, heres the deal:  I was looking at swap ideas and saw one for people with really unique names.  It looked really cool and all, but, as my name is possibly the most common in america, i couldn't exactly participate.

My idea: a swap for people who are sick and tired of hearing there name, turning around and realizing that they were calling for someone else.  For people who know like 4 people who share their name.

We all have little liscense plates with our names on them, right?
How bout getting some different states and that sort of thing?!
