1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / A Crafty Christmas on: December 09, 2006 12:11:55 PM
So, we bought the wreath a few days ago, and I hadn't had time until today to decorate it. (I've had it hung in the shower so the cats couldn't get it, and to keep it from drying out!)

Lo and behold.....

A Peace on Earth Crafty Christmas!

2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Big Blue Bird! (IMG HEAVY) on: October 30, 2006 07:08:31 PM
So this year at work, they're having a Halloween costume contest in our department...and seeing as I'm completely obsessed with birds lately, I decided to be a bird!

I used a picture of a Blue Jay as inspiration. I didn't think I'd be posting it, or I would have taken more progress shots. The costume is mostly made of felt, sewn onto a tshirt for the body, and a cheap knit cap for the mask. The eyeholes are in the beak (here's hoping I can see what I'm doing tomorrow!) I used polyfil to fluff out the head and the feet. Ahh the wonders of felt!
A few "tailfeathers" to shake tomorrow at work!
(Yeah, I'm thinking I won't get much work done)

3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Patchwork T-shirt Recon! on: August 11, 2006 06:02:52 PM
So last time I went home to see the parents, I bought a "Dayton" t-shirt at the airport cause I thought it was kinda cute AND it was on sale. Problem is, it's way to short. Enter the recon! After cutting off a bit, I added two patchwork panels to the front and back, overlapping them a bit for coverage, but left like an open flap for comfort and summer breezes.

Whaddya' think?

4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / well, I'll admit... on: July 12, 2006 06:07:43 PM
I'd never thought I'd like polymer clay, but I've totally been having fun with it!

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Yarnaholics FYI on: June 01, 2006 09:10:41 AM
If you're going on vacation in Italy, or at least, to Florence (which I just returned from!) be prepared for the ONLY good yarn shopping.  Even with the difference between a euro vs. a dollar, prices were really reasonable and I found some really great stuff.

Beatrice Galli's store I found online before the trip and she had some really nice stuff, but I also happened along a little store that had the only bargains!

Leave room in your suitcase!
