2  Re: Fill a flat rate box swap! in The Swap Gallery by dutchclassic on: March 21, 2007 08:47:16 PM
I'm terribly behind as I got my box stuffed to the brim of goodies a few days ago, but haven't had time to post! Some great wool yarn from knitpicks, and some baby soft, fun fabric, (love the fabric squares) LOADS of beads and trinkets, paper supplies, thread, leather cording and leather scraps, um, um, um......
so much!

Thank ImAKite for a wonderfully filled box!

Yay! I'm so glad you recieved! I had so much fun with this swap!
The beginning supplies:

Two cute handtowels with bunnies on them, two of those religious bracelets you see people wearing, one basket thingy made of bamboo, and glass leaves. (The journal I threw in because they're great AND a bargain!)

So obviously, I used the towels to make the Cuddle Cup (I got the idea from a thread FlasheyAshley had posted in)

I followed this pattern
http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/accessories/17507-how-make-cuddle-cup-requires-sewing.html
It was super easy, so I ended up resizing it and making one for my cat Mike!

Anyhow, I took apart the bamboo basket to make the cuff (I glazed some of the pieces to give it a bit more color)

This was just for fun,

leaf magnets

and my absolute most fun thing to make were the Conor bracelets! I couldn't resist when I saw that I was swapping with a fellow fan!

This was so much fun!

It's a MLK day miracle! I think my package must have accidently arrived at someone else's doorstep the other day, cause I woke up this morning to our doorbell being rung and my package by the door!

Anyhow, look at my loot!

A super cute dinosaur bulletin board

A catnip filled sockdog!

Kitchen towel covered headbands...

and a bounty of awesome dollar store loot!

an action shot of Mr. Sockdog meeting Mr. Cat

They like the dog almost as much as the like the box it came in, which is saying quite a bit!
I love my stuff, especially the headbands and the sockdog.

Thank you FlasheyAshley!

6  A Crafty Christmas in Winter Holidays by dutchclassic on: December 09, 2006 12:11:55 PM
So, we bought the wreath a few days ago, and I hadn't had time until today to decorate it. (I've had it hung in the shower so the cats couldn't get it, and to keep it from drying out!)

Lo and behold.....

A Peace on Earth Crafty Christmas!

7  Re: Birds are Beautiful Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by dutchclassic on: November 20, 2006 07:57:35 PM
Yay! I got home from work tonight to a big box of birdy awesomeness! I don't know if my photos even BEGIN to do it justice, and my swap partner was definitely too generous!
I absolutely love my new tote. What more could I want? Favorite colors and bird themed? Check.
Also included were a cute little pillow, a little stuffed bird of felt, birdy coasters, a WONDERFUL little birdy zipper pouch, and loads of wonderful birdy charmed necklaces. Not to mention the adorable "bird seed" card.

So completely cute! Thank you!

8  Big Blue Bird! (IMG HEAVY) in Halloween Costumes by dutchclassic on: October 30, 2006 07:08:31 PM
So this year at work, they're having a Halloween costume contest in our department...and seeing as I'm completely obsessed with birds lately, I decided to be a bird!

I used a picture of a Blue Jay as inspiration. I didn't think I'd be posting it, or I would have taken more progress shots. The costume is mostly made of felt, sewn onto a tshirt for the body, and a cheap knit cap for the mask. The eyeholes are in the beak (here's hoping I can see what I'm doing tomorrow!) I used polyfil to fluff out the head and the feet. Ahh the wonders of felt!
A few "tailfeathers" to shake tomorrow at work!
(Yeah, I'm thinking I won't get much work done)

9  Re: How's Your etsy Shop Doing? in Selling Crafts on Etsy.com by dutchclassic on: October 03, 2006 12:06:44 PM
I should totally be getting ready for a job interview right now, but I couldn't resist posting a pic of the ONLY box of happiness I just got!

My awesome dad  sent me tons of new things to paint on AND his homemade jam and salsa!

BeaG definitely has spectacular photos. I tend to just take mine with some good daylight, and everything seems to turn out fine....
This is my newest creation

I've been thinking of doing small paintings for awhile, for the admirerer's (sp?) of my work who might not be into that whole chunky jewelry thing.
Anyhow, I think he turned out cute. Anyone think of some other dog breeds that would be cute? A pug is next....
