the city skyline is the print on the fabric, not my doing, sadly.  it was apparently a skirt fabric/pattern, but i just used it as i wanted to. i'm so pleased with it, but unfortunately, i couldn't get it to her on time, because it has been blizzarding out for a while now....

sad

yeah, i got all the supplies at walmart, and it was less than 15 dollars total. it was a thrifty craft, just how i like them!

OK, so here is the deal. it is one of my BFF's birthday's tomorrow, and she wanted a messenger bag. i had no specifications other than this, and my vast knowledge of her taste in clothing and such...sooo.... this is what resulted. i call it the "big city messenger bag"

a picture of the front, showing the pattern on the fabric

this is a photo showing the strap, which is made out of blanket binding, and plastic findings i took off of another bag.

This picture shows the lining

and finally a picture of it on me.... excuse my icky-ness.... PJ's and a hat. blegh.

i sure hope she likes it.
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: a willing cat + a small knowledge about crochet= on: February 25, 2007 11:06:23 PM

you know, i think i am just gonna hold off on giving it to him. too risky, but i do like the idea of "You Rawk."

thanks!

so i am sort of seeing this guy, and i decided to make him a valentine's day card. the thing is, we are kind of dating but not officially, so i don't want it to be too lovey-dovey, you know?

so what should i write on it?

oh, and the reason that there are the panda's on the card is that his nickname is "purple panda" so i always slip a little panda something or other into the stuff  i give him.

here it is.... in it's unfinished glory...

do you think i should maybe just not give it to him now? i know some guys get freaked out when girls make them stuff.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Black and white illusion scarf: MADNESS logo on: January 07, 2007 04:31:48 PM
i have had the problem of the rolling edges on a scarf before... it helps if you lightly iron it... it rolls back up if you pull on it again, but it helps for a bit. if i were you i would try putting some sort of a border around the edges, something sturdy, like a seed stich, or maybe a ribbing. dunno if that would work but it's my best guess.
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / fabulous hat i crocheted for my friend! on: January 07, 2007 01:20:17 PM
so i realised the day before christmas that i hadn't gotten anything for my friend elyse, so.... i decided to whip her up a quick hat. i know that she perfers "ugly" things, so i picked the colors that i disliked most and went with that. it didn't turn out hideous, but she still loved it!

a close up of the hat, on me... in my christmas eve slobbishness.

and her, looking absolutely fabulous.
