1  Re: how-to: woven circles trivet in Crochet: Completed Projects by rented_angel on: May 14, 2010 09:55:23 PM
I was holding this in my hands trying to figure out what was in the middle of the rings when I opened opened your post. Sorry for the bad scan but I just had to share...so weird!  Shocked

I'm so glad you figured this out I just love the look of them....but I wasn't too crazy about the colors of the one I bought at the thrift store. The colors on yours are a great inspiration.  Now I can make my own in any color I want!  Thanks!  Grin

2  A Patch for Brass Guitar??? in Discussion and Questions by rented_angel on: May 17, 2008 11:00:02 AM
Hi....this is kind of a weird question, but my friend bought a brass biscuit guitar a few weeks ago....and after practicing for weeks, he found out he's allergic to the metal.  His elbow is breaking out in a rash where his arm rests on it.  Being a boy, his first thoughts were duct tape...but it's just too pretty to tape up I think.  Any ideas on what could be used to put there or how to adhere something to it so we'd be able to take it off again easily.

I tried to draw where we would need the patch, but I don't know how. Tongue   It would be on the upper left hand of this picture...where his arm rests while strumming.  Maybe 4 inches wide and 6 across or so.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

3  Stuffed Owl and Card for my G'ma in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by rented_angel on: April 22, 2007 01:43:44 PM
Hi....this is the first stuffed thing I've ever attempted to sew....even if he isn't quite perfect...I think he's a cutie.   My Grandma's 78th birthday is coming up and she loves owls...so I thought this would be a good first project to attempt. Smiley   I found the idea and pattern here.

I also made the card in the background...the bird was an old embroidery pattern I found...I just traced it onto paper and colored it with Sharpies and added the fabric background and sewed it into place  Cheesy

4  A Case for a Hooker, a Pig, and a Turtle. in Crochet: Completed Projects by rented_angel on: April 22, 2007 01:36:00 PM
I took out my sewing machine this weekend for the first time in months and made myself a case to store my crochet hooks in.  I didn't use a pattern, but I've seen a ton of cases like this online...it's been on my to-do list for months.   Wink  Even though my photos insist I made these in 2005, it's wrong...I just need to figure out how to set the date still.

open:

The top of it folds down and there are 3 little snaps to make sure my hooks can't escape....and I added ribbon to hold my stitch markers.

all rolled up:

I also made these guys in the last week or so.  Neither of the patterns are original, but I can't remember where I saw them....either here or crochetville...if anyone wants them though, I can try to dig them up.  Smiley  I just recently attempted making stuffed things with crochet and I'm pretty sure I'm already addicted.

5  Robot Camera Case in Crochet: Completed Projects by rented_angel on: April 22, 2007 01:26:04 PM
Hi.....it's been a while since I've posted anything, sometimes it's just so much easier to look at everyone else's great stuff.  Smiley  I made this case for my camera's last week....even though the date on my camera is off and it says I made it in 2005...I need to figure out how to set the date on it yet.  Undecided  I like to be able to bring 2 with me, so I needed something with enough room for both camera's, film, and batteries.  After an afternoon of crocheting, I came up with this.  I'm pretty proud of it; it's one of the first things I've made without a pattern, and the pockets seem to fit everything really well.  Yay.  Cheesy

I need to make a strap for it yet...but I'm not quite sure what I should do for that....until then, my old purse strap is working fine.

I've been watching this for a while...but kept putting off motivating.  Smiley  I hope it isn't too late to post my finished project which I made this afternoon.

Here's it is all shut...

And here is is open...

I am pretty happy with how it turned out..and that it went so quickly.  Now I have no excuse not to be organized with my crocheting needles.  Tongue

8  Blue Green and Yellow Crochet Hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by rented_angel on: May 17, 2006 05:16:10 PM
I just picked up crocheting again.   I've been experimenting because all I ever made before were afghans and tampons.  This is the hat I came up with.  I started making it for our 5 year old...but it turned out too big, so now it's for me  Grin  Oh well, nobody has to know that.

9  frog dress for kid and doll in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by rented_angel on: May 14, 2006 09:34:30 AM

Oh boy, I hope I figured out how to get the picture on here, because that just seemed way too easy.

Anyway, here's my first post....I've been a lurker for quite some time, but have been waiting to get a better digital camera to post.

Here is a dress I made for my bf's daughter and a matching dress for her water-baby.  Smiley
