1  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / I made a leather Crop for only $5! on: August 01, 2012 04:07:13 PM
I've been trying to put together a burlesque costume, and one of the things I wanted was a leather crop. Well let me tell you, all the good ones are about 50 plus dollars both online and in the store. The lowest I found was nine dollars, but it was really ugly and very pink. So as I was walking around Michael's today and I found a piece of leather. That's when the idea popped into my mind. The leather was only $2.99, but I needed a bendable pole. I couldn't find anything, but one of those plastic swords at $4.99 a pop. So, I did what any crafty girl would do I went to the dollar store and low and behold! I saw a cheap one dollar fly swatter! After an hour and a half, here is what it looks like!

3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / a "get together" party i need ideas for on: May 11, 2006 03:15:37 PM
So ok, my favorite Teacher move to teach at another school after my class graduated last year. Me and a few others saw her two days ago, and she was telling us how much she misses teaching at our old school. Ms. Sheehan isn't one of those teachers you can forget. She makes makes you think, helps you see things in different lights and then steps back, letting you form your own opinion on what ever it is. Then of course, She challenges it. Once i met a nurse who help me get my brother in the car after he had surgery, and while we were walking she asked what school i was going to at the time. When i told her, she suprised me by asking if Sheehan still taught. In a city like Houston, i would never have thought i would meet one of her old students, one who was twice my age atleast, who told me how great Sheehan taught.

So we're trying to have a party in her honor, i'm not sure how many people are coming yet, but i know it'll be a big number... so i need theme help and things i might need. I never made a party for someone before, i've helped, but thats about it. Undecided Grin
