3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / going to a wedding on friday need ideas! on: April 29, 2008 10:07:44 PM
This week I finally decided to try sewing clothing, I made 2 dresses and today I made a pencil skirt. I want to wear the pencil skirt to a wedding that I'm going to with my ex boyfriend on Friday but I also want to make a top to wear with it. What kind of top would be incredibly cute and incredibly simple for a novice??
4  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / so I have 3 llamas.... on: April 18, 2008 05:34:13 PM
EDIT!!!  4-22-08   I have received many requests for the fuzz so until I am able to fill all those requests I'm going to say that its no longer available.

I got them last summer so this will be the first spring we will be giving them lovely new haircuts. No one in my family spins or anything so I was wondering if any of you craftsters would be interested in some llama fuzziness.

I think we will be shearing them this weekend so if you want to just PM me your address I will send some fuzz out to ya. Like i said I'm not familiar with fiber arts at all so if I need to do anything to their fur before sending it please let me know, also if it matters what color.

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / moving into a log cabin HELP!!! on: June 19, 2006 06:04:20 PM
So my dad is retiring from GM and taking a job in the middle of nowhere Ohio (we currently live in Mi) mainly because they have found their dream house, a huge log cabin set on 10 acres. My 5 yr old daughter and I will be moving with them because well being a single mom is a bit hard at times and free babysitteris are much needed. The house really is beautiful but its not exactly my style, I like clean and modern not outdoorsy and rustic. The bedrooms have 2 walls that are drywall and 2 that are log and I really want to figure out a way to cover up the log. I cant paint it so I was thinking about maybe hanging floor to ceiling fabric but am hoping that maybe you guys have some other ideas. so help!

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / first tote/first attempt at sewing on: May 22, 2006 09:50:36 AM

theres no lining yet because I think I broke my moms sewing machine somehow (not really sure its making a weird clunking sound and the bottom stitch is always super long and loopy) before I finished it so the straps are actually hot glued on  Embarrassed  I'm hoping my mom figures out how to fix it but that was 2 weeks ago and since then she has just thrown it back in her closet soooo has that ever happened to any of you, the clunking sound???
