1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: The Monster at the End of This Post--Lovable, Furry Old Grover <3 on: January 29, 2008 10:08:07 PM
I love it! That was one of my favorite books as a kid and now my daughter loves it too, I bet she'd love a little grover!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: (Sun)flower baby blanket, little red pixie hood & my daughter's angel on: January 16, 2008 10:22:00 PM
I love the angel! It looks like the angel I use on my tree (that I've had since I was really little) only she's not crochet, just made of felt.

I am curious though in the end how many pieces did you have to sew together? was the pattern hard to follow.

It was a front piece, a back piece and two sleeves, so 4 pieces that were sewn/attached together and then the hood was worked on the attached front & back. To be honest the instructions weren't the most detailed but if you've made any sort of clothing before it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out Smiley

Thanks for the comments everyone! It fits her perfectly, I told my husband it looks like it was custom made for her and then I realized, duh, it was! It's the perfect shade of blue to match her eyes too.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Whatcha makin' me... maybe a... blue sweater? on: January 15, 2008 09:27:45 AM
That's what I constantly heard from my daughter anytime she saw me crocheting. So apparently she wanted a blue sweater. I figured I'd crochet her the much requested blue sweater since I just started knitting and I knew I could finish it much faster in crochet.

This was my second attempt, the first pattern I used was just the wrong shape for her and so I frogged it and started over with this pattern from Bernat (http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=2613).
I used Wool-Ease in Blue Heather. I finished it last night and when she saw it this morning she wanted to wear it right away.

neat! I like the shade of pink you used.
I hope you'll share some action shots if you get the chance. I'm considering making that sweater for myself and I'd love to see it actually on someone.

Thanks everyone!

Love it!!  Did you use a pattern for the mermaid?  I've been wanting to make one that looks just like yours!!!!!
I made up my own pattern as I went along. If I ever get organized I'll have to post it Smiley
9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / pink haired mermaid on: November 07, 2007 10:43:21 AM
my daughter is as obsessed with mermaids right now as I am with amigurumi Smiley

She's put together so she lounges on her side. Her hair is crazy, I used Patons Allure (I think) because my daughter said she should she have pink hair and it's so neat but her hair makes her head look huge.

That's a really cute idea! I may have to make that for my daughter who seems to love hopscotch (although I have no idea where she learned about it).
