Since my cash flow is pretty much zip right now, but I just bought my first house and I have a terrible compulsion to decorate it, I've taken to satisfying my craving by "online window shopping." I'm looking for modern wallpaper like the ones that have been featured in DIY, Ty Pennington At Home and Decorating magazines. I've gone to the websites/manufacturers suggested by the magazines but they are so different by what is in the magazines...

What are your favorite wallpaper companies? (No old lady wallpapers please!)

Hi... my boyfriend and I are decorating his apartment and we're going to be making a classic horror movie bathroom. We were wanting to paint the toilet sets with acrylic paint (would this work, you think?) and then seal it with something so it wouldn't chip or come off on us.

Does anyone know what kind of paint would work best or what kind of sealer provide the best protection?

BTW, these are brand new toilet seats, we're not painting on the ones that came with the apartment.

Okay... so I'm not quite sure how I suddenly became obsessed with them, but  now I am.

I want to make them a dollhouse/apartment complex. I want to decorate their rooms, and make their clothes and style their hair and take all kinds of pretty pictures. Heck, I busted out my sewing machine for the first time in over a year to practice making clothes for these dolls and I don't even have one!

But once I started checking out prices, I nearly spit my soda out! Buying one would be like 1/2 a months rent. I can't afford that. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what other dolls would be a good alternative and better on my pocketbook, lol?

I was in a scrappin' whirlwind this weekend! I made so many new pages. I thought I'd share a couple of my new favorites.


This was inspired by a challenge at scrapbook.com. It was scrapbook life's imperfections, and this month's challenge was to be about yourself. I really like the way the layout turned out. The circles kinda remind me of eyes.


The picture wasn't the greatest, but I can tell by the way my bf's lips are curled what he's thinking. I did rotate the picture because it fit the design better. The color scheme was actually inspired by some chipboard by KI Memories. It was too expensive for me to get the other day (I'm broke) but I really liked it so I attempted to recreate the feel of it.


My favorite color! This was another challenge at scrapbook.com. I LOVE the way this layout turned out!


Trying out the clean and simple graphic style. I don't know that I quite pulled it off.


When I found this fabric iron-on on clearance at Walmart for only a buck, I knew that I had to put it on a layout! This picture of my sister seemed to just complement it perfectly. I'm really digging this page.

Okay, I've made a couple of albums for my boyfriend before. One was really mushy and I made it when I moved to a different city. Another one was all about his favorite sports team for that paticular season (to make up for the overly mushy scrapbook before).

This one is different. Its simple, for one thing. And its short. And I created the whole album. I used chipboard for the covers and as the background for the pages. I'm super proud of this album. Its my most favorite thing I've EVER done. If anyone is interested in how I made the album, let me know. I'll see if I can't come up with a tutorial.

But there was no way I could make an album about how much I love him when his music tastes are Cannibal Corpse and Vital Remains and Cattle Decapitation. Those lyrics just don't quite give off the lovey-vibe, kwim?

This is a page I made for my mom. She hardly ever gets out of the house to be with her friends. My mom wasn't sure who some of the other women were so I thought I creatively covered them up... whaddya think?

My grandparents in the summer of 1946. I ADORE this picture of them. They look so in love. But since it was an older picture I didn't feel like doing a "heritage" sorta feel. They were young then too, afterall!

I read in another thread that other people wished that more alternative scrapbooking supplies were mass marketed. I was just wondering, what sort of things would people be interested in?

Like if you could have rubons and stickers and paper and whatever else produced, what themes, patterns, sayings, etc would you want?
