1  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Pet Recipes - What To Avoid on: December 16, 2007 02:04:50 AM
I just received an ASPCA (animal poison control center) brochure from my pre-vet friend and here is the list of harmful foods that was in it:

avacados
bones (choking/digestion hazard)
chocolate (all forms)
coffee (all forms)
onions and onion powder
garlic
grapes
raisins
macadamia nuts
alcoholic beverages
moldy/spoiled foods
salt
fatty foods
gum, candies, or other foods sweetened with xylitol
tea leaves
raw yeast dough

and here is the list of poisonous house plants:

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Days of the Week Boxers [Tame Pics, Suggestive Fabrics] on: December 15, 2007 02:28:29 PM
Okay, I just busted out the pattern!
I am a size 8 and it turns out that I used the mens XS and it gave me a snug fit, but not in a bad way, so maybe try the boys XL or L depending on if you will be doing karate kicks in them or just lounging around...

Wow, I bet you could pump 3 pairs out in an hour with that method!

It's really easy to girlify this pattern. I just take a few inches off the very top of the shorts, which makes the crotch/rise shorter--->now they will ride at your hips instead of at your belly-button! Then I hem the legs up shorter as well. I also used the boy sizes instead of the men sizes.

haha my favorite is the one with the rulers (I think you know why).
I love simplicity 9958! I've made about 5 pairs w/ it! Some for my boyfriend, some for my dad, and some for the milkman (jk).

I modified it for a pair of girlie boxers as well:

(they are all worn out by now)

Do you put snaps on the fly? Because I always omit that step. Snaps are just so daunting to me.
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Dane Cook Subversive Cross-stitch on: December 15, 2007 12:50:26 PM
So I wanted to make a subversive type of cross stitch for this gag-gift xmas party that is coming up. A lot of people there like Dane Cook, so I incorporated one of his most popular punch lines into a simple cross stitch design.

and here it is framed:

What do you guys think?
6  UNITED STATES / Missouri / Re: Upcoming Craft Shows in STL county on: October 12, 2006 07:53:28 PM
Is it tailored more for the general public, or indie/hipster crafteers?

I'm pretty sure it is just a Bridgeton Community thing, so I dunno, I am picturing middle-aged women buying Christmas wreaths. I am not totally into that kind of crafting, but I think it will be a good experience to be there and see what it is all about. Who knows... there could be some totally rad stuff.
7  UNITED STATES / Missouri / Upcoming Craft Shows in STL county on: October 01, 2006 06:07:04 PM
Hey, I just wanted to give you STL crafters a heads up on 2 different craft shows that I found out about today.
The first one is next saturday, october 7th at flo valley Community college from 10am-2pm ($25 for a table space)--I don't know if the table is provided or not. Call 314 830 9779 for more info. The next one is on Saturday, November 4th at the Bridgeton community center. I am excited about this one because I think my mom and I are going to get a booth there! It is $30 for non bridgeton residents. The table is provided. AND last year 950+ people showed up! Call 314 739 5599 for more info on that one.

He might need a nemesis.

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Don't be frightened! It's just my cell phone cozy... on: January 09, 2006 10:26:03 AM
What did I do this morning?

The body is knit, but I crocheted the arms, which I think turned out okay considering I've never crocheted anything w/o a pattern.

I think my favorite projects are the spur of the moment type-completely unplanned and completely unexpected!
