351  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / sweethearted tube top & yellow/white v-neck t-shirt on: April 06, 2007 01:12:48 PM
this tube top was made from an old black t-shirt and some polkadot fabric i had laying around. i gave it a sweethearted neckline.

this one reminds me of an egg! hahah. i used a yellow t-shirt and a white t-shirt. i drafted my own pattern for this one.

(slightly puffy) sleeve detail

stripe detail. i added this stripe because the shirt was a few inches too short. i think it completes the shirt.

thank you everyone!
353  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / black/white skull-print puff sleeve tee! on: March 31, 2007 08:44:56 PM
this was made using a giant black t-shirt from value village and a white skull-print shirt that i had but never wore. i made a pattern from the skull-print shirt and used it to make this one. i know i'll be using it again, after making a few minor adjustments.

sleeve detail. after many many tries at puff sleeves i finally got it to work. next time i'll make them a bit puffier though.

i hate making my own bias tape :\ i had to sew a bunch of short pieces together, so there are seams all over the place but whatever. it makes the neckline sit funny too

see, it makes it pucker when i'm not sitting perfectly straight

i couldn't get a picture of the back, but the neckline scoops down, just not as far down as the front.

Your wallet looks gorgeous!  Love the combination of fabrics.

Could you please post the link to the tutorial you used?

Thanks! Smiley

i'm sorry, i can't. first of all i didn't bookmark the post it was in, and the person who made the tutorial said she took it down because she sells those wallets now. sorry!

wow that came out really amazing!! i absolutely love it!!!! the colors are perfect and the pockets look awesome. can you happen to show us how you put the zipper in? everything seems figureable (i don't think that is the right word) i just can't figure the zipper. anyways really amazing job!

aw thanks! i started another wallet today and i haven't done the change pocket yet, so i will try and take some pictures and get them up within the next few days.

Cute Cheesy Im pretty sure it was my tute that you used since that looks exactly like the wallets I make. ^^;;; I took it down because I sell them now (when I can make them). Though Im glad to see someone got some enjoyment out of it while it was up!!!

oh, really? i hope its alright that i make them for people :\ i only make them for myself and for people who request them, i wouldn't make a bunch and sell them at a craft show or anything, so don't worry! its just such a nice wallet!
357  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / black and blue ruched tank on: March 24, 2007 05:38:16 PM
i'm proud of this shirt Smiley the black is from an old t-shirt, and the blue was some nice stretchy fabric i found in the bargain bin at fabricland.

i was planning on keeping it a tube top, but i always make tube tops, so i added straps.

front

details. sometimes i just can't sew a straight line hahah

after adding straps and ruching on the sides

side ruching. yes, i accidentally stiched up too high into the blue part. my arm covers it though, so it's ok.

straps/detail.

i couldn't get a picture of the back, but the straps come down on an angle and almost meet up in the middle.

sorry for all the headless photos =P

You did SUCH a good job!  Everything looks so well put together, I can see why you're getting requests!  I have been looking for wallet like this, is it in the tute section?

thanks! i don't think so :/ it was a long time ago that i found the tutorial, and i think it was just in somebody's post. for this particular wallet i kind of made up the dimensions because i lost the pattern pieces i used for the other ones haha

i could probably make a tutorial the next time i make one, but since it's not my original design i wouldn't want to take credit for someone else's idea :/ we'll see though.

first off, i'll introduce myself. my name is lorraine and i'm 18 years old. i've been sewing for a looong time, but just got serious about it last year. i've been reading craftster for so long, so hopefully i'll get around to photographing everything i've made and posting it here sometime!

a while ago i found a tutorial on craftster and made this wallet for my sister and a friend, and then another friend requested one.
