I love it - especially the bow.  Someone needs to teach me how to crochet well enough to make hats and amazing projects like this one.  Sad

But it's so cute - thanks for sharing!!

Thanks! I love the bow too. When I first started making hats I went to YouTube and searched tutorials on there.. there are some great ones that show a close-up of the entire process so you can get the stitches/etc right Smiley I found that much easier than reading written instructions when I first started out!

Adorable!  i dont know how you did it, I'm intimidated by cables.

Thanks! It's really quite easy once you do a few rows!

What a lovely gift. I didn't realise it as crochet at first.  It is really good.  I love the cables. Didn't know you could crochet cables.  Tongue

Thanks! I didn't know you could crochet cables either haha, until I came across this pattern Smiley

Hello everyone!

I recently went to my cousin's wife's baby shower (they are expecting their first child, a little girl!) and I decided to made a homemade gift. I have only every crocheted dog sweaters :p but I thought I'd try my hand at crocheting a human sweater! haha

I used this pattern from Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cable-sweater-8

I made the smallest size (6 months) and instead of doing the hood, I just did a folded over collar.

Close-up of the buttons

Close-up of the cables! I thought it was going to be so hard, but it was pretty easy!

I was pressed for time to finish the sweater in time for the shower, so I didn't get a chance to take good quality photos. This is the actual colour of the yarn, a pastel pinky-purple.

Thanks for looking!

Hello everyone!

This hat kind of happened by accident - I was at Michael's shopping for yarn to crochet myself a new winter hat, and came across this beautiful burgundy yarn with little gold flecks in the bargain bin for $2.00! I couldn't not buy it, so I used it to crochet myself a new hat for fall instead! (Winter hat will still be in the works soon too!)

I used the Pretty Puff Slouchy Hat pattern: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=195823.0

I altered the pattern a bit though. I used this pattern once before, but the hat turned out way too tight in the end. I added two extra increase rows at the back of the hat, and did one less decrease row at the front of the hat. I also substituted a thick ribbed band at the front of the hat. (For anyone wondering, I did a bunch of rows of front post/back post double crochet. I alternated fp/bp every two stitches to make larger ribbing.)

This is the left side with the bow Smiley

Here it is flat

Detail shot of the different stitches in the hat, and you can see the little gold flecks more here

So cute! Love it!

I've been going crazy for some time now trying to think of how to make a cute buisness card holder other than just decorating a store bought one (which are so ugly and kinda pricey around here). I don't know why I never thought of something simple like this. I'm totally making one this weekend.

Did you use anything to add stiffness/structure to it or just stitch it up like a wallet?

Thankyou!

I did use some medium weight interfacing on the outer portion (the black outside piece). I actually have a youtube channel with craft and sewing tutorials and I was thinking of doing a tutorial on this!

I'm doing an internship for my final semester of college, and I have my own business cards! The first business cards I've ever had! So naturally, I had to make a little holder for them to throw in my purse.

the case with some of my cards

the case

the back, open and flat

the inside, open and flat. i used black, leopard and bright purple cottons

the inside with some cards in it

the button and elastic closure. i used the same leopard fabric to cover a shank button so it all matched Smiley

Thanks for looking!
