2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Decoupage_to the edge on: June 17, 2005 11:44:06 AM
I'd try using painters tape instead of masking tape.. which i kno.. "same difference" but painters tape tends to not stick tooo much to the decoupage if it dried a little more quickly before you pulled it up..

But yeah, use tape for the hard edge and be sure not to decoupage onto or a little over the tape coz you'll have to pull that tape up before it dries and you could end up pulling your decoupaged collage right up! ack! and that totally would sux!

And... like i said.. don't let the tape sit there too long.. otherwise the tape would become part of the collage.. but who knows... if it did, you might could work it!  Wink

Hope that helps.

As a matter of fact, agreeing with Loudieroo...

I've used plaster in mold making.. To make it easier, i bought old thin WHITE!! sheets at the thrift store and ripped them into small thin strips and soaked them in a bucket of plaster, i would then immediately apply them to my wire framework of the mermaid i was working on.
The plaster sheets work well and fit smooth to the framework.. And after it drys a bit (which it dries quickly!) you can apply more plaster to create a more smooth effect and thickness depending on how you want it...

Anyway.. thats my experience, just wanted to share.. hope that helps.
10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Question about Stamping & Recommendations... on: April 05, 2005 08:41:59 AM
Hi all,

I'm in the search for some stamps.. I haven't ever really been into "stamping".. until recently when i purchased a stamp set off of ebay.. and now i want to purchase other stamps without going through any bidding process.
ANyway... Does anyone have any recommendations on sites that sell stamps that is somewhat affordable, and a little out of the oridinary?!
I not looking for cutesy teddy bears and daisies.. I'm searching for something a little more different.. like moons, suns, faces, fish, or quirky stamps.. So if anyone has any suggestions or references of sites, or any stamping advice, etc... Feel free to lemme know...

Stamping seems to be another craft addiction i want to add to my list.  Wink
And any help is nice.
