I like the combination of blue and brown - and that is has an outer pocket Smiley. It is also large enough to hold in more than a a book or keys and cellphones. your sister must be really happy.

I've just started sewing late last year but I'm already hooked. I've been making bags and pillowcases but really, I'm dying to start on making tops for myself.

The problem is that I'm not sure on how to start - should I get a pattern (but I'm afraid it will be too hard for me) or try the easy and 'accesible' ones? I've contemplated on buying a pattern book but am just unsure about my ability to follow the instructions.

 for those of you who started out like me (self-taught) but have evolved into making clothes for yourselves, what would your advices and suggestions be? Is there a simple top/shirt that I could try to make before I cash in on some patterns?
