1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Pillow for my boyfriend on: December 01, 2009 06:32:35 PM
My boyfriend is a year older than me and he went away to college this year. I wanted to make him something and I was thinking about making him a pillow to keep in his dorm. I want it to be special and personal, perhaps with words or a picture on it. The problem is, his parents don't want us to be together and they don't know we're still dating! If they saw a pillow with "I love you" on it or something similar, they'd flip! So, any ideas of how I could decorate a pillow without it being too lovey-dovey?

Thanks!  Wink

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / T-shirt Yarn and a few questions on: December 01, 2009 02:00:26 PM
I don't know if this goes here but I didn't know where else to put it! I don't know how to knit but I'd like to learn, so instead of purchasing all the materials only to discover that it's not really my thing, I decided to make my own materials: t-shirt yarn and chopstick knitting needles! I love craftster  Cheesy

So, here's my ball of t-shirt yarn.

I'm not much of a crafter (YET) so I've been starting out with simple things =) This is an old turtleneck that I cut up. Well...I thought it was old...until my mom asked me if that was the turtleneck she had bought in Khols. Come to think of it, it did have a Croft and Barrow label on it, and Croft and Barrow is sold at Khols...I didn't mean it! I swear! Err, it was in my closet with other stuff I'd been given by a neighbor, including a bunch of other turtlenecks. Why did I choose to cut up my mom's?  Lips sealed

Anyway I have a few questions. Can I use it the way it is or should I pull on it so that it rolls up into a rope? And what are some good beginner projects to do with t-shirt yarn?

Thanks for reading!
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / My First Post! Rasterbated wall mural =) on: November 30, 2009 07:37:22 PM
Hey everyone =)

I've been lurking on this site for years now, on and off. Every time I come back to craftster I get addicted--and this time was no exception! haha. Anyway, everything on here is so inspiring and I decided I wanted to do something that wasn't too difficult to start off with. So, I decided to make a rasterbated image to put on my wall.

I hope you all know what I'm talking about and don't think I'm saying something dirty  Roll Eyes

It took me about 3 1/2 hours and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Thanks for reading!

aaand as soon as I figure out how to post images I will do so  Cheesy

edit: here goes
