Hi everyone!

I haven't been on Craftster for quite awhile,  but a few friends and I have started up a new knitting and crochet circle and I am trying to promote it!

We meet every Wednesday night from 5-??? at One Up Elevated Lounge downtown at 3rd and Central.  If you have never been there, its a restaurant/lounge/pool hall with the most comfy public couches in the city.  The place turns 21+ at 9, but that gives you a good chunk of needlework time!!

So come out, meet some new and creative people, because we are looking forward to meeting you!

2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Musical Baby Onesies on: July 13, 2006 09:20:58 PM
I just made these for my friend Ohtham who's girlfriend just had a baby.  He requested onesies with musical notes, so here's what I came up with

Front- I messed up and dropped a couple of spots of paint.  I decided to go off the deep end and I think I like it

Back- A big "O" for Ohtham

What do you think?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Crafty little sister's shirts! on: July 13, 2006 10:43:44 AM
My little sister made these. She's 16 right now...

On the back it says "Aloha from Canada"

It says "Albuquerque"(front) "...is hard to spell" on the back.

I saw them and gave her mad praise.  I'm so proud of her craftiness!!
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Vintage Craft Projects / Knitting, Crochet Patterns from 60's and 70's on: July 06, 2006 11:36:58 AM
Yesterday I went to the library bookstore and found these for 50 cents each-

Winter weather patterns printed in 1973

Pics of the patterns.  You can kinda see them.  My favorite is the one in the top right corner, I might actually make it!

Afghan patterns from 1979

Most of the patterns were really simple or commmon (ex. chevron, granny square), but I really like this afghan made with "broomstick crochet."  Its really the only reason I bought it.

A really cool stitch pattern book from 1963.  Some really cool knit and crochet stitches.  I have another more recent stitch dictionary and there are some stitches in here I've never seen.

If anyone wants the patterns or more pics, I'll be happy to scan them in for you

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / 1st post! Reconned Blue's Clues shirt on: June 28, 2006 07:00:35 AM
Hi!  I'm finally delurking because I've finally made something I'm proud of!  Yesterday I made this shirt, inspired from Generation T.

I used black yarn to lace up the sides.  Here's a matching headband I made using the scraps.
