As always, we’ll have theremin holiday carols by Johnnie Spaceman. And for the first time in BB history, the Boston Derby Dames (Boston's only all-girl flat-track roller derby league) will be on hand to skate around in front of the Cyclorama in addition to having a table at the event.

INDIE CRAFT DOCUMENTARY:
We’re pleased as punch that the Faythe and Micaela of the Indie Craft Documentary will be attending this year’s Bazaar. They’ve spent many months touring craft fairs, studios, galleries and boutiques. They’ve been speaking with organizers, curators, cultural theorists, historians and the crafters themselves, documenting the new wave of craft to give their watchers a thorough overview of this new art movement sweeping the nation.

Hi, I've gotten custom stamps made a couple times at Bob Slate (in Harvard Square). If you're just using a logo they have on hand it's super fast (and cheap--mine was like $6). but you can also give them images to create stamps. I did that and it was about $25 for a 3 inch by 3 inch block. It took about 10 days or so to come in.

I'm going to Stockhold and Visby next week. I've been doing a lot of research on visiting various museums, design shoppes, etc. Does anyone have any advice for where to shop for fabric? Yarn? Craft books and patterns? I'm assuming things are more readily available than in the states, but any help, URL's or shop names you could give me would be very much appreciated! Thanks! 

I had such a great time at the Faire! We lucked out so much with the weather (except for the wind gusts on Sunday!) and everyone's booths looked so awesome. I took loads of pix and will post here soon! Thanks so much to everyone who attended or was a vendor!!!!!!

Hi,
I'm in completion mode these days and have finally finished a few projects that have been lingering in my craft room for quite some time. This is a quilt I made for my friend's baby (Maeve). She was born in December, so March isn't too late, I hope! It's all flannel, so I think it'll be very warm. I got the cute animal flannel at Joann's a few months ago on super sale ($2/yard or so).



Here's a little detail of the embroidered corner of the quilt. I wanted to do something a little more elaborate by was worried that I wouldn't finish while the baby is still. . a baby!

I know there are a few people who've made these before, but after a long time I finally helped finished this one:



It ended up being about 3 sessions. My friends Craig and Jon have a beavy of awesome t-shirts (as evidenced here!) and asked me and a crafty pal of mine, Stacie, to help them with making a t-shirt quilt. We made each square 12" X 12". We alternated the t-shirts with dark green flannel; the backing is pieced flannel (so it'll be super warm hopefully!). It's such a pain sewing with t-shirt material, so if you look too closely you can tell that some of the pieces don't square up perfectly. If we'd thought about it beforehand we probably would have used a stabilizer.

We also ended up making our own bias tape for the edging, which I highly recommend! You can learn how to do it here[/url.
But as it is, it turned out well and they loved it.

I finally got around to making one of these "rapunzel" scarves. Here's a sort of dark pic of how mine turned out:



It's in pinks mainly. I made mine really long---you can see that it goes around 3 times. Each length was 3 "wing spans" (i.e. out stetched hand to out stretched hand) and each plait of the braid has 10 strands.

This is a really fun (and really, SO easy) gift!
