11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / A new purse on: February 21, 2007 11:43:31 PM
I recently finished a new purse for myself. The yarn is handpainted and handspun. It was a present from my hubby several years ago. I made up the pattern as I went along.

Details on my blog.

12  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / A Successful Pair of Socks (updated pics) on: February 01, 2007 11:28:07 AM
I still have to make the other sock but this one came out so good I had to post. I used the technique from Simple Socks, Plain and Fancy.

Woot! I finished my socks and they fit. They feel so good. Yay!

Prana inspected them and approves.

13  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Rubber Chicken Needs A Scarf on: December 24, 2006 12:35:03 AM
It’s a cold, snowy winter this season so I decided our rubber chicken needed a scarf of his own.

A close up of the scarf, knit from my stash:

Now the chicken can be warm when he goes out to play in the snow.

Look he’s making a snow chicken!

14  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Simple Gray Scarf on: December 19, 2006 12:27:55 AM
I'm working on a very hard lace sweater. To ease my stress when I felt like crying I started a simple gray scarf. The yarn is recycled from a free sweater I frogged. Easy ribbing of k2, p2 across. When I started I didn't know who to give it to. A friend's roommate doesn't have a handmade scarf so to him it goes.

My cat Prana modeling it for me:

A close up to show off the colors.

15  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Draft Blocker on: November 20, 2006 01:20:31 PM
Our back door had a draft coming through so I decided to make a draft blocker. It turned out really cute I think.  Grin

Tutorial on my blog.
16  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Homemade Patches on: November 18, 2006 12:41:36 AM
I still wear my first pair of homemade bell bottoms. The wear is showing though because they had devoloped some holes in the butt. In the past I've just bought patches but this time I decided to make some:

Two handmade flowers. Store bought patch in the middle.

I made the ice cream. An ice cream cone on my booty. hehe

I made a little tutorial on my blog.
17  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Sock Woes on: October 17, 2006 10:08:51 PM
I tried my first sock attempt recently. I used the pattern from Weekend Knits. Things were going along nicely and I was so excited to be finally knitting socks.

I knit the heel and successfully shaped the toe. Triumphally I put it on my foot only to find it didn't fit!

Why? I had skipped a line in the pattern that said to knit 6 1/2" for the heel. My heel was looked like a doll's foot heel.  Cry

I've frogged the sock and have put the pattern aside for awhile. I'll attempt it again but need some times to cool down. I was so mad that I skipped that line.
18  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Viva La Poster Boy Revolution! (IMG heavy) on: September 16, 2006 12:23:05 PM
I just finished up my Poster Boy Bag. When I saw the pattern I knew I must knit Che:

And a symbol of revolution on the other side.

This was an advanced technique for me so I decided to skip knitting in the round and knit each side separately. I added pockets to the lining. I also decided to line the straps.

I was so happy to find fabric that matched. But then I found the Perfect Button!

Lots of storage space in here.

Some action shots!

I'm so happy with the way it turned out! Hope you like it.  Smiley
19  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Hike Sweater from Rowan #37 on: May 01, 2006 06:38:52 PM

I'm finally finally done with this sweater. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. The sleeves though gave me so many problems-I had to frog them 5 or 6 times and finally made up a pattern for the end. I knit up little triangles and ladderstitched them into the sleeves.

I did the pockets differently, added trim by the zipper and added ties.
20  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Boy Bag with Tutorial link! on: April 29, 2006 09:05:53 PM

My husband was in need of a new boy bag. I started making up a pattern using thrifted corderoy. I realized it was going to be an involved project and decided to take pics for a Craftster tutorial. There are over 50 photos for the tutorial so I put it up on our Flicker group. My husband loves his new bag and hope you do too! Smiley
