1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Tie Skirt on: August 21, 2014 10:22:50 PM
Years ago a Craftster posted pics of her tie skirt. I loved it and knew I had to make one of my own.

All the ties were thrift store finds.

I lined it with muslin and went for elastic at the top.

More details at my blog.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tattered skirt into shaggy scarf on: June 05, 2014 02:03:26 PM
A friend asked if I could repair her tattered skirt. Just picking it up created new holes so we decided it couldn't be fixed.

I decided to cut it into strips and then sew them back together longwise. I took a cat brush to the ends to enhance the fraying.

I'm so happy with how it came out!
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Beginner jewelry girl on: April 17, 2012 11:30:16 PM
All these jewelry pics are so inspiring! Lately I've jumped into making my own jewelry. I've been having such a great time. Here's some of my projects:

And my latest bracelet with matching earrings. I'm on a matching theme.

4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Beyond The Fringe on: March 06, 2009 12:18:37 PM
I'm making two pieces of artwork for a fiber arts show that's happening in Taos, NM called Beyond The Fringe. Here's a snip of our art postcard:

My pieces are still in progress. This is the centerpiece for my piece call An Arrangement Of Elements:

This piece is called Lunar Life:

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Charmed Knits Owl on: November 29, 2007 12:51:08 PM

I finished my owl for the baby gift. The pattern is from Charmed Knits. All the yarn is stash yarn. I made a few modifications. The base piece was too big so I just took a piece of yarn and threaded it through the bottom hole and sewed it closed. The pattern called for button eyes but since it’s for a newborn I sewed eyes on instead. My favorite mod was the hair. The owl just needed some hair:

6  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Ravenclaw Umbilical Cord Hat on: November 27, 2007 09:26:25 PM

I made the Umbilical Cord Hat in Ravenclaw colors for a friend who's pregnant. That's her favorite house from Harry Potter. The yarn is Mission Falls 1824 superwash wool.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Orange yellow socks on: October 07, 2007 06:21:13 PM
I recently finished a nice pair of socks. Easy ribbing and lovely yarn variegation.

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My Ogee is done! on: August 30, 2007 08:17:50 PM
I'm finally done with Ogee. It started out being really hard lace work but by the end I was able to master the lace. I can really see myself wearing this over skirts and pants a lot.

I frogged a thrift sweater and knit up Ogee with the yarn. I'm amazed how much the pattern opened up after blocking. Surprisingly even though I used different yarn, smaller needles and altered the pattern somewhat the dimensions turned out to match the ones in the pattern.

More details on my blog, in the sig.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Arwen Sweater on: June 29, 2007 01:06:27 PM
A friend and I decided to do the Arwen Sweater from Interweave as a KAL. It was really fun to work on a project with somone and when I got confused on the short row sleeve shaping she helped me out. I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

I made mine in Lettuce Green from Knit Picks. The yarn was a dream to work with. And I have two and a half balls left over. Woot!

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Crafster Swap Bag Reconned on: April 06, 2007 01:24:25 AM

I originally got this bag through a Craftster swap. It started off plain white. I sewed on an outside pocket to cover up some advertising. Some friends dyed it for me. Recently I added lining and pockets to hold my knitting supplies. The lining came from a thrift jacket. More pics at my blog.
